    Hi,

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I couldn't sort this issue out despite trying various methods.

Here is the pic of what is happening.

So am trying to batch re-save Cinematic Strings. The Kontakt version is 5.4.3. On Native Instruments forum I found that it could be the folder permission issue so either change the permission (read/write both) or move the folder to other drives. I have done both. Even moved CS folder to external hard drive but all in vain. I thought it might be only CS's issue so for experimentation I tried with other libraries but the result was same.

Please let me know what is going wrong? Will really appreciate.

    Thanks.

First, check again if your .nki-s aren't "Read-only". If they're not - find "properly" unlocked version of Kontakt, because it seems that the library is encrypted.

If they are protected you first save in wav/aiff and now a resave in .ncw.
There so many things better than Cinematic Strings...
When you re-save larger libs your ram resources can make you computer go crazy!
    Take care

    @ablekuma
I have just checked again. .nki's are read/write. Which Kontakt version are you talking about please?

    @ovalf
I agree but I really like CS. I have resaved it long time back (don't remember how or which Kontakt version) but my external drive just died. I have now completed a reinstall of some libraries on another external drive but this error is keeping me away from using it. How do you save in wav/aiff and a resave in .ncw by the way if you don't mind please?

Thanks for the head up guys.

Its important to avoid copies of the libs in other hds because it will try to load the original location samples.
    Go to Edi/collect samples.
    Choose the original lib
Make a folder for resulted lib and choose format to wav/aif, convert
Now make another folder, get the resulted files and choose the ncw...now you can delete the original files and the ones of first conversion.
depende on kontakt version this process elimates the protections and you will not to need to add the lib.
I downloaded everything for kontakt and almost delete or chop everything improving disk performance and clean the hdds.
Also no not do the option batch convert because its only for resave:mates:

Mine is a clean install. Since my previous external drive has died, I cannot use or retrieve anything from there.

I will try this. Looks like one night for .wav conversion and another for .ncw :)

Thank you for your time. I will post the result.

nkr contain resource things like wallpapers and even impulses for convolution.
nkx are larger audio multiple files (compressed or not, so in old libs you can reduce size)
    ncw are individual compressed files
    nkc are ghosts:bleh:

    Had the same thing.

    1) Turn off "read only" on library folder.
    2) Run kontakt as admin in standalone mode and do batch re-save.
    Cheers.

Why you don't only save the instrument? Why a batch re-save? Or you can make a monolith file.

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your post, it is working for me. I was using 8dio hammond organ, couldn't be batch-saved within cubase, but working in standalone mode with admin, it saves me some waiting time! Great!

This is more more less what I do when trimming the samples. But I find it overkill for re-saving instruments.

Just rename the folder of the not-desired (other disks and so on) copies of the lib. Kontakt, when reading nki's, won't be able to automatically found samples of other copies, which is indeed a tricky problem.

This was driving me nuts ....had random libraries that I just couldn't batch save. This little tip worked immediately. Thanks Daniel!

Hello, I'm having the exact same issue in Kontakt 6.6.0 but none of these solutions are working. What's going on? Someone please help.
