bass guitar dead notes

    So assuming standard tuning E A D G

    each string provides a dead note...but do they have a pitch?

    each string provides provides a different pitched dead note right?

    dead notes do have pitch, and the resonance of the dead notes you play on each string will shift based on where you're muting with your fretting hand / where you're plucking with your picking hand

    Yep, they do. You can even play melodies with dead notes (especially when you thumb them).
