I tried subscribing to that URL of filterrules in LS, but this doesn't work. Where did you paste theses Rules in exactly?

    it's a bit tricky,
you need to select all the content from that web page, press cmd+c (copy),
then you need to open Little Snitch Configuration app, and once it opens, press cmd+v (paste) and wait for a while,
one they all get imported, you should see within rules list something like Any Process - 3670 Deny outgoing connections to 3670 domains...

I happen to use uBlock Origin too, it's like 2-factor adware protection for me

Found another useful one called unpkg. It unpacks .pkg files by simply dragging pkgs onto it: https://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/

Nice extensive thread guys! That pretty sums it all up haha

For those who want to keep it simple: BatchMod, Keka (slightly better than the Unarchiver I just found out using it), and Crossover are just all you need to make any k'd software work. When the need arises, batchmod the whole app folder you're looking to crack into to reset permissions.

Using Big Sur flawlessly. Co-design if the need arises (very rarely, but happens):

Step1: Install your program (restart sometimes needed)

    Open Terminal

Step2: xcode-select --install (if you haven't done already)

    Step3: sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/XXX\ XXXX/XXX/XXX.app

(or alternatively: xattr -cr /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/XXXXX/XXXXXX.component etc. - not sure of the difference)

    Good to go!

pasting all the info does not work for everyone, only shows one line...

Nothing to do with the fact you asked for some info but quoted it too, because you missed it.
And I then showed you it to help you.
And now you're quoting it and talking about something unrelated. From over a month ago. :dunno:
    Thanks, mate! lol.

I love it, but it still has a memory leak even after 5.1.1 update on my end.

    Save your money.

Little Snitch has zero use when it comes to blocking any music/video program in 2021.

Most patches do the job directly since they prevent the programs from calling home.

Other programs such as Serum or Diva have their own time bomb scripts which have nothing to do with having internet on or off. Even those get cracked/patched over time thankfully.

Still a fun tool to see what's going on in your outgoing connections but totally useless now.

So which is it? Zero use or "~~most~~ patches do the job directly".... ?

'Most' is not >>>>> all to my knowledge.

And at the very least, what could little snitch hurt? And it's not like it is a cpu hog. Granted, I'm never online with my work machine anyways but....

I'm open to listening, and I'm not stating rhetorically here at all... I just don't know how it is useless you know? and would love to know more.

(and makes me nervous reading what Mike Hunt said about the Big Sur backdoors, but I'm not using that OS now....)

Did they even successfully [k] the later versions of Little Snitch?

I'm using my old purchased license that I will have to upgrade with my next os update...

LULU is nice (requires newer MacOS versions, fails to fetch auto updates), not quite as intuitive to block individual websites/ports/links compared to Little Snitch, but for basic block-app-completely it's awesome being free

Yeah, it isn't as intuitive as Little Snitch on that for sure.. Have you figured it out correctly? I'm never quite sure if I am doing it right.. :)

I usually block entire process/app, and if anything doesn't work, I delete the rule and start over (also applies for LittleSnitch)

Yeah, I'm rarely ever online when using Ableton or whatnot, do you block individual plugins/standalones etc in addition or confident with just blocking the host app (Ableton in this case)..
