I am organizing my hard drive, and found EZdrummer expansions eat too much room. If you have only one option, which one would you go with?

    1. Basic set of EZdrummer: approximately 3Gb
    2. Addictive drums: approximately 7Gb

Addictive Drums. When it comes to the sound you have a lot more options, because the basic samples are untreated.
And to be honest, without any offense, 3, or 7GB is nothing nowadays.

I use the (barbarian russian repackagers and so on, god help r2r...) symlink EzDrummer 2 version. A pro is that you can erase the factory libraries and use like in my case a classic EzDrummer (1) Exp like "Metal Machine".

you can erase manually the factory libraries and only stay with the grooves or also you can install a lite xpansion like the metalheads as your only xpansion, just go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZDrummer enter in the xpansion name (vintage or modern) and go to the sounds folder and erase the content, it's super easy ;)

That's not a problem in Addictive either.

If you're asking, you probably don't use them much anyway. Get another HD.

Thanks for reply. The point of my question is whether I can make the sound of EZdrummer with basic set similar to AD2 if I produce it with effect plug-ins. I also aware that 4GB is nothing nowadays, but have been struggled for managing all of my drives, and am trying to reduce them as less as possible, because I don't have home. So, there are many chances to move and I need to reduce my stuff.

If it were me in your position then? I'd get the smallest vst drum kit I could find, and MAKE it work!
Once you've moved you can then start worrying about getting everything perfect.

You could also switch to a much smaller footprint drum program (depending on wat ur looking to really do). Small footprint....Good sounding ....with grooves included... plus mixer controls...and it's a Free prog..32bit/64bit

    Take a look n listen to Demo's

    http://www.powerdrumkit.com/

It's also on our sister site..Search:Manda Audio: MT Power Drum Kit v2.02

Ad Drums. I used both mentioned a lot live/Studio. In my oppinion Ad beats Ez in every aspect. In 2018? Get superior drummer 3, a new Hard drive and get rid of the 2 mentioned. :rofl:It is huge but it is all you'll ever need to create acoustic sounding drums in an unbelievable good quality and easy way.

EZDrummer (easy drummer) has preproduced sounds and you don't have access to all parameters of the single kit pieces.
AD has untreated sounds and access to all the single parameters (individual OH and Room level and pan, basic pitch, small pitch env, full amp env, filter, eq, compressor, saturation, distortion, bus, 2 fx send.
With EZD it's easier to get a produced sounding kit, with AD you have more options.
If there is a specific EZD sound you really like and want to use, take it, if you're not sure about the final sound, I would go for AD.

Powerdrumkit is very limited in sound and sound shaping, SD3 is for sure great, but you'll need 50GB or even more for it.

That's why I am struggling. AD2 has more options as you said, but EZdrummer2 gives me lots of variation for combination. The problem of EZdrummer2 is that the size of the Expansion Pack is to large(25Gb) and the room of my laptop and hdds are getting full.

Thanks for all replies. Ok, I would like to ask you guys how to install EZdrummer2 Expansion Pack in D drive instead of C. I have the iso file and it shows the folders, but there is no installer file. Found the other EXP folders in C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer, but C drive is getting full.

Well, I have been waiting for bigger size of portable hard drive (6TB), but no manufactures has announced about it so far. When I get the bigger ones, things will be easier to me.

Not sure what you mean by EZdrummer 2 Expansions Pack. There is no single pack, but the individual EZX kits are only about 1-2Gb each, so could you just trim it down and keep the kits that you use the most? You'd still have ~6-7 different kits for the same disk footprint as AD2.
