Is there any advantage in using a balanced guitar cable ( TRS ) to DI into audio interface for recording guitar ?? What does the team think???

No i dont think so since the input in the guitar isn´t balanced so whats the point?
But if you record with a DI-Box you can have balanced cable from the DI box to the audio interface.

    You mean the output...

No, makes no sense. For small distances, like usual in home recording, you never need balanced connections.

No, since all guitar output jacks are unbalanced. (i.e D'oh!)

    won't do any good...
... but there is a different issue relating to the high impedance level of your guitar output and the low impedance level inputs on your interface. The result will be impedance mismatch. What does it sound like? Muddy sound if plugged into a low impedance input on your interface. less definition. tone suckage... So, if you don't have some sort of Hi-Z input on your interface or preamp a DI will do some good for your tone and also transform your signal into a balanced signal. Other options are superclean preamps like the triton audio bigamp, which might produce even better results than your average DI but will need phantom power to work.

PS: regarding balanced connections at home... I would not like to have my monitors being fed an unbalanced signal

If you don't have any interferences, why not? Just for the sake of it?
