This is a notable and accurate point; PACE doesn't use an across-the-board protection scheme.

 

I think the strategy is to make people lose their minds with WIBU just to make iLok look reasonable.

Ilok will never be reasonable i hate ilok it's a pos i rather authorize my plugins with codemeter but be calm people R2R will break Ilok once and for all and if they dont just use software that requires no Ilok

You should keep those final version of R2R/Antares releases. Even if we release new iLok protected versions, these have much more bloat than you think (bad effect of Meta Fortress anti tampering). Antares "Make the plugin slow again!"

That's the latest WIBU/Codemeter protected release as stated in the NFO. We all hope R2R will break new iLok protected ones.

As they stated in their last nfo they did break it but it is just a possibility that they release it

 

Waves Real-Time Tune is just as good and even has a dry/wet knob (that is actually labeled dry'wet) which is nice especially for new users, in particular for situations in which you want it to be a little more subtle, kind of like what a lot of modern country does today... listen for it, it's everywhere... along with melodyne. but it's also good for that snappy auto-tune sound you speak of, just turn that shit to 100.

also, izotope nectar's pitch correction was very good in v2 iirc (i actually prefer 2, mostly due to the way things are organized in the newer ones). i actually still reach for it over antares for most situations. it just sounds better.

 

Not every software will move to iLok and as an amateur musician there are definitely enough alternatives to use to Autotune that will do the job good enough. I haven't used AT in 20 years and work with vocals all the time.

 

Just a quick heads up, this installed WIBU CodeMeter for me. Guess they haven't removed it everywhere yet?

 

Sadly, you still need Auto-Tune Central I thought I could just install it and use my iLok license.

 

I installed it in a sandbox, activated it then deactivated it and that added the licence to iLok. I'm assuming I could then just copy across the VST3 to my production machine and that it would use iLok but I didn't try it. I've got over 60 licences in my Lok account and only two of them are installed and used at present! But, yes, it would be nice to just download the installer and an iLok reg key.

 

True. It's not about typos. It's about being unreadable. That was the problem with written latin language: The Romans did not have punctuation back then, thus documents were hardly to read in one try. Gaius Iulius Ceasar was one of the few men who could read a text in one pass. But he was a genius.
It's like the 0 (zero) in math, really needed for sophisticated math.
So, @PROMUSICAUDIO Buddy, punctuation is a gift. And real Pros use it!

On topic:
I would go even a step further: I hate every form of authorization processes. They tend to stop to function in the worst possible moment.
Also and most important, it is only a pain in th a*s for legit users because ilicit users just use cracks.
Why do vendors like to do a harm to their legit userbase? Why, I just don't get that.

BUT: Imho iLok is not thaaaat bad. I personally haven't had an issue with it for > 5 years now. For me it is a bit "too flexible" for devs. You can have a lic on the stick or onlinre OR only online OR only on the stick ... a lot of possibilities to not work for me.
And again a but: I'm glad that most of the titles I own are cracked in the meantime.
