not relevant. this is old news, Cymatics already has a new pack out. Regardless, it was the beta pack, a FREE pack, as well as being a ROYALTY FREE pack. The link to the BETA pack did not exist, as it was distributed via email direct download link. The link to the paid pack is the closest thing to a link for the BETA pack. Its not a bait and switch.

I watched part of an interview with the main guy at Cymatics, and he talked a lot about their business model, sales numbers, the numbers of producers he has working making samples and content, etc. Anyway, he talks quite a bit about the all the little free sample packs, like this one being discussed. oh, I found it:

A bit unrelated, but while we're on the topic of "free, royalty free" packs, Cymatics likely has some sort of restriction on how "royalty free" licenses are obtained, even on a free pack, where you must be on their email list or have an account with them or something along those lines in order to encourage direct interaction with them instead of through other, sister sites, so to speak.

It's highly unlikely to ever be an issue, but in the extreme long-shot possibility the company's lawyers decided to investigate a chart-topping song that used their samples to see if the producer had a license and they determined the producer didn't follow their terms and conditions, they could potentially decide it was worth their time to try to claim the producer's share of the royalties, and they would have a pretty strong argument if one of us was in court like, "the only time I have ever been to your site is when I was tricked into clicking a link to the full version of the beta pack."

 

There are very cute and smarter dogs on the airports doing the same stuff OP is doing on this thread... But the dogs almost always are right when they spot something wrong, OP is not.

 

Watch as much as you can take, of the video I posted above your comment. He has something like 6 people pumping out samples every day as their full time gig. He says they spam their entire mailing list of over 1 million email addresses with links to free packs regularly. The chances of them coming after you over a single sample in a track, is lower than the chances of someone making a track so successful that anyone would even notice the song exists, never mind where a single sample came from.

People believe in the whole scenario of "making an accidentally successful mega-hit track". That is delusions of grandeur. If you know you have a solid track which might make some money, clear the samples. That's more for your own guilt/paranoia anyway. It's not like you are ripping off bars from the Rolling Stones. It's like when people put out sample packs and write that you need to pay them in the event of "major placements". They already know that isn't going to happen and it is a sales tactic.

When you look back at the end of your life about all the things that caused you upset, do you honestly think whether or not the Cymatics midi packs not being entirely free will be one of them? I assure you, it wont be!

The $97 pack you are referring to on the Cymatics page is the full 5.1GB Shrine bundle:




The pack on Sister site, as mentioned many times previously in this thread, is the free BETA pack, containing only a selection of the above:



Let's see if you can spot the difference in bundle size.


Your "outrage" and doubling down over LDVN's supposed mis-categorization (and your knee-jerk conclusion that it was due to mistaking Free and Royalty Free which led to the red herring tangent in this thread) has been your own misunderstanding and has been a complete and utter waste of internet.
