why not just a regged chan at "irc" (!maybe for the beginning!) without embedding anything here (except the info where and how to join this "chat-room") ?! it's not really great work for the user to join this chan with any freeware or portable irc app with one click (after some fast made settings). it works at the past, so why not in the future. i mean sure: a local chat on the mainsite i great, but i think not really much more than "cosmetic", later there are sure enough ways to bring this irc chat with a script\code on this site, but for the first the rough chat foundation stands...

No way Jose. Just an extra opportunity for members to flame each other. I think it could end badly. I think you all have seen how some people communicate with each other. Besides, not many people have anything intelligent to say. Most people can't even figure out what the "Say Thanks" button does! Most of the time when someone asks a question, they get answers to everything except the question they asked.

I don't know, perhaps with some active Moderators it could work. Otherwise it's just going to be maybe a handful of people sharing some good ideas, and then a whole buttload of people calling each other dumb because some are PC while others use Mac...

 

I think a chat and the so called professional audio lovers don't really fit together. IMO a chat implies kinda boredom (lack of work, creativity etc.), bla & blubb...

what will be discussed then? what will be better within a chat room?
information will be fleeting and will get lost/forgotten within minutes. the guys who know and like each other propably have already found other ways for communication (e.g. Skype)...

and then there are the different timezones or english skills of the audiosex members... well, I actually think the chat idea is just kinda bullshit. communication quality won't get better.

and my meaning is, a chat makes the forum quality BETTER, because it keeps away much spam, bullshit, just smalltalk, stupid (or better) short ask questions, questions without search before the forum etc. that have no real place on a never deletable forum posting.

for importand things on a chat there is a feature that's called "TOPIC" or triggers like !news etc. so you're always standing on the latest news.(and the real news are always at the forum). and last the :

"english skills"
as you see, my english is amazing SHIT, i would ask (with this *MY* english rather something in a chatroom instead of here, no one like it to encrypt such posts like this from me now)

so why not just some (good) smaltalking at a chat (maybe with a german channel hrhrhr ;)

aber du kannst es mir auch gern in einer verständlichen sprache näherbringen. *yes* bzw. ich dir...
meine meinung/prognose: es wird einfach nicht lange funktionieren. die leute sind einfach nicht interessiert. im wesentlichen (ausnahmen bestätigen selbstverständlich die regel). punktuelle arschkirecherei wird natürlich weiterhin vorhanden sein, sofern nicht der eine dem anderen grad zufällig die freundin ausspannt. der reiz des/der neuen ebbt erfahrungsgemäß sehr schnell ab. in einem immer größer werdenden sumpf von audio lovern wird es ohnehin schwer werden hinz von kunz zu unterscheiden. (warum also überhaupt kümmern?) jeder steht sich selbst am nächsten - das ist international.
und wennde schlau bist, machste mal lieber ein bisschen mehr gescheite musik (professionell und/oder lernenderweise), anstatt hier hinreichend orientierungslos abzugammeln und auf die klugen ratschläge "treuer" eidsgenossen aus übersee und co. zu warten.
also, das ist zumindest meine bescheidene, wenn auch dezent überspitzt vorgetragene meinung...
die großschreibung müsstest du dir jetzt einfach mal denken.

also ich wäre zumindest nicht teil dieses chats. die zeit wäre mir zu schade..

*yes* Man you're right!
Some people on AudioZ are really ungrateful + intentionally offensive. Those suckers obviously find a free zone for their insulting comments because there's no moderation on AudioZ. People who use impolite words and play the rude @ss should be banned right away! But as i do and did you can report to SAiNT and that "(ab)user" will be informed and possibly banned. It happened 1, 2 or 3 times but it solved the problems.

I don't know if a chat would be good for Audiosex, probably always the same users would hang around there - like it happens on the well known veesteeklup - just chit-chatting....pushing themselves up with rep+ points....yawn, how boring! :dancing:
