Hello, recently I posted a message in the Software section discussing the situation surrounding Audiotools. It seems the site has been hacked and is now pushing out malware. My post got deleted because it was in the wrong section. I hope it is in the right section this time, or is it simply not allowed? I see other posts from way back regarding it and posts about other sites so it is kind of confusing in that regard. I hope I am not breaking the rules, but I have read them and cannot see anything specific about this sort of thing.

Anyway... If anyone has any information about whether the site is back online at some point in the future / will or wont be coming back online / any other information regarding it. Please let us all know in this thread? Unless... it gets deleted again :'(. lol. The site is a fantastic resource and I have never had any problems with it in the past. My major concern is regarding the domain you see. It has changed before and it took me ages to find the new address. Lol.

That would be cause to never visit that site again, you should no longer trust anything you have ever taken from there

 

If its the website you are talking about then all I can say is that last year also they were out for a couple of weeks as far as I can remember. Then they were up and running back again within a short time. So guess it will be more or less the same this time

 

it uses torrents from our fav russian site, so i don't think it is that much of a loss

Lol, all those websites just take the torrents from the same russian site, you just get the same "pls deactiavte the adblocker uwu" and more ads, not a real loss

 

And was the only site that had good spanish text (sometimes instructions in spanish too). I always thought it was made in spanish, but my tinfoil hat kept telling me it was just tracking the local language.

Don't think so. When I used it a couple of years ago most posts were in Spanish as well. I just figured it was a spanish or mexican site. I'm in Sweden, so it definitely wasn't tracking the local language.

He has been down a few times in the past and changed the (.com) not com but you see my point .Last time it was to ".in" till present. He said last time it was because he couldn't afford to keep the site up also why he has ads for a while then stops. You can tell when hes broke cause it detects your ad blocker and asks to turn if off. He posts these messages on the page with the links. It took about a month last time and luckily the new address was posted on Reddit . It now says Under Maintenance and the malware auto download is gone he might just have been hacked. I've used him for big things as torrents are faster but mainly use the sister site as its more a community ...

 

If it is torrents you are after, either RUT or Audionews are best options. Anything else is just not in the same league
