German composer and YouTuber Hainbach opened his treasure chest for us: we are happy to present to you Wires, an accurately modeled and enhanced 1970s Soviet wire recorder. Made originally for military and secret service use across the Iron Curtain, in the hands of a few avant-garde musicians it became a magical lofi-tool and ghostly echo machine. Now this rare and rather finicky to operate piece of hardware is available for the first time as a faithful yet modern plugin.

They've put out some really nice plugins lately. Not like the others are bad but this,Springs and Valves sound really nice.

Is the audio from activating the red light an authentic Soviet recording?

This wires thing (plugin and original)..wow, it really sounds like shit!
i mean, it definitely doesn't sound good.. but its interesting lo-fi, and if its k'd i might use it on approx 1 out of every 1000 sounds i work on

Has a wire based delay ever been emulated carefully before?

Well they class piano, rhodes, and drums, as 'Boring Sounds'.
    So it's to be expected.

ray manzarek playing the rhodes on riders on the storm, boring?

isnt it funny tho how he keeps saying how "soft and lush" it sounds, "get some analog mojo"
i understan he is proud of his new creation but its a bit too dreamy in the clouds for me.
its not a freaking bleeding edge preamp & transformer stage sculpted by machine learning with one billion band FFT system! nope its basically the ancient soviet digital equivalent of a sample rate & bitdepth reducer.

As far as noisy, distorted, narrow spectrum, nasal lofi, it sounds good :like:

Does it automatically translate in Russian, or there's an option to turn it on/off?

When you click on either of the silver transport spinning things, it activates the red light and a recording plays. Just curious what the origin of the recording is.
