With that out of the way, it would be helpful to know how many people are participating, or at the very least considering participation.

If I could,I would. The concern is time, deadlines...I have always been slow, but recently Im almost static, a little below absolute zero when movent is becoming a paradox.

 

Thinking about it - an idea that is - if I get one, I'll give it a go.

 

There are more than 2 months to go before deadline. Give it intention and focus and it should boost itself.

How the fuck do I convey that into music unless theres sleighbells or vocals singing about xmas ...

 

I'm voting on a different answer. I want to help out with mixing. Just reach out when it's ready. I doubt I'll write something myself.

What makes Christmas, or Winter Solstice what it is?
Sleighbells are thought to be iconic xmas instrument, but first someone had to make it popular. Why not turn the wheel an use what you'd consider iconic instrument?
The theme doesn't (and maybe shouldn't) consider Christmas as a mere Christian holiday. When one digs deeper, every culture and/or religion upholds Winter Solstice as something of utmost importance. Therefore no need to include exclusively Christian motives.

Damn, was just downloading half a GB sleighbells to throw them everywhere.. and now Im ashamed of using any of this stuff .. at least did not hire mariah carey backing vocs (yet!)

Well I'll try to have some fun with this; I think we all should. Got an idea, sort of orchestral piece but want to put n electric guitar part in it (and being a "piano" man, hopefully my friend will help me with that..)

 

Well I had an idea. Only I never effing know what's going to come out when I start messing with the muse and it's come out all c#add9. So I'm going to have to use the J word. Ambient Jazz. So I'll give it a go and refer you to my signature below.

 

All fun aside, Christmas is a hard time for some and to lose yourself in a mixing/colaberation project is not a bad idea. Nomatter if it’s a heavy synth metal headbanger, Mariah Carey seasonal, José Feliciano classic, or a cheesy Hallmark album found at the dollar store.

In all honesty, I dislike Christmas, due to how it’s been so commercialized and forced down my throat. As soon as Halloween is over, if not before, all the crap comes out. Amusing to me the normal christian types will embrace the christmas tree and Santa, which is all based from anti-christian pagan system.

Xmas wasn’t even a true holiday until companies like Coca-Cola, JCPennies and Sears made it to be one to sell more Cokes and get more orders from their catalogs.

Anyhow, a good Christmas album is always a nice way to celebrate the season. I’ll end by saying if the Hoff can make an Christmas album, it is our duty to do one too, in honor of all the great Baywatch and Night Rider episodes!!!

I "wrote" *ahem* (messed around & improvised some klonky crap =) for the audioseXmas grand Xtravaganza. But it turned out a bit wrong, being Fri 13th etcs. It isn't happy/jolly Xmas, it's moar bittersweet but determined to enjoy / triumph over Xmas. It does have lyrics, tho! Most of these lyrics are "soon it's gonna be Xmas time!" nooooo! Although I tried to stay away from usual Xmas tunes, they kinda infected every note I touched XD



I'll try to do something a bit more (that actual can has) structured and in a less crappy key & w/ moar sleighbells, by the time December comes around, Andrew! And w/o a min of terrible filler beforehand. At least I've got the outline done... Although, thinking about it, most Xmas songs are in the crappiest, doe-iest, deer-iest of all keys!

God, I <3 the idea of going full Hasslehoff Xmas, that would absolutely kill! XD

 

I voted "not sure". I really want to, but I'm not sure if creativity strikes me. Also, I'm more of a musician/composer and less of a mixing engineer. The mixing process always takes like forever and then still the results are not pleasing me. But if anyone else wants to do the mixing of my song, I raise my vote to "85% sure"!
