Hey Audiosexers!
Let me announce yet another of our album projects. This time it's Christmas album.
Since some of our previous projects were hit and miss (okay, one was my complete hit and miss , for which I apologize) and proved to be organizational nightmare, it's vital we keep things simple this time in order to make it to the release.

The idea is a simple one - make a track of any genre about what Christmas or Christmas season means to you.

Rules are intentionally kept to a minimum, to avoid confusion and keep it simple for us to handle your tracks:

• Track has to be original, specifically made for this album (not one of your best-of's). In other words, fresh. No remixes or mashups.
  
• Track should be between 2 and 8 minutes long (121 - 479 seconds)
  
• Track should be submitted before 14th December 2017
• Track should be mature, maintaining sense of quality. In another words, give it your best! It should be representative of your skill and devotion.
  
• Format for submission - 24bit FLAC if possible (WAVE/AIFF also possible), sample rate 44.1kHz or 48kHz, no MP3s or other lossy formats

No limitations as far as genre or style - make it happy, make it terrifying, it's up to you.
Collabs are welcome too.

Your track (or collab) should be discussed in more detail in a separate thread. However, feel free to announce it here.

More info will be added later (e.g. how to submit tracks)

The album will be made available as digital download, shortly after 21st December if everything goes well, so it'll be great Christmas present for everyone.

Artwork - not my cup of tea, but would highly welcome anyone to try and make us one!
Staff - need someone to help me compile the album and if required, made loudness and sound adjustments so that all tracks are on the same level

i'm in with helping with Artwork if needed,and will submit a track for sure,what a great place,what a great community,no fights, just helping each other to lift our spirits up,give advice and make great music.(for the Christmas album,any way i can help i will.)

Collabs are allowed of course, but created for the Christmas project.
It wasn't clear from your post. You asked to put "nice track to this", e.g. you already had something prepared.
The idea is to start fresh and not put to use previously unused material.

I have updated the post, apologies if that wasn't clear from it.

This is very interesting ill write a song for it with vox ... a modern Blues heavy rock song maybe if it is fitting to the Album... with some acoustical Guitars heavy guitars an some synth try an mix it up lol

seems like a unnecessary restriction? good luck with your album project. I hope no one recycles a previously used drum beat for this.....

 

It's the idea that should not be recycled. By stitching together a track that was made with a different intention just to fit in the mood of this album doesn't seem genuine.

As a sidenote, the original Audiosexed album had this rule as well.

sounds good im lookin forward to it! i love off the cuff ideas>>> reminds me of one of my first bands i was in in the early 90's we didnt have enough songs to play our first gig so we just improvised 30 minutes half way thru the show lol i guess we pulled it off the crowd bought it lol

 

@Andrew ,some really really basic blueprints for artwork,it is 12:12 midnight time where i am and tired.Let me know the direction you visualize the cover artwork....

I think you should get inspired from a snowflake. In my town it doesn't snow but the christmas word always reminds me snowflakes.

 

The first one looks GOOD. With some extra touches it might be the thing.
However in my opinion the final design should be voted on and not decided by one person, to keep it fair (as much as I like your design).

If anyone wants a collab on mixing, I can do that for the album. I'm not a great composer, so I feel shy about a song of mine, but I want to participate.
