Hi Jim,i have the pleasure to read that only now.

Nice behavior to a donator, now i understand why i hear so many bad things about your site.

It’s super easy man,you try to be funny with a like-digger post but i can reply super easily.

I never talk about Nexus problems,i don’t needed support on Nexus,i’m not crazy,i needed support on your bad site, who have a no-sense and ridicolous upload bug, that is also more ridiculous considering that is a site based only on uploads.

And if i want to be more suspicious is really strange that for solve a bug created by you i need to pay for reach the crazy bugged uploads amount.
And i say suspicious cause is better say this than other more properly words.

Anyway, nice try to be funny,i have to admit it,but at least please to be serious, don’t try also to make funny of your donators.

Your post clearly describe all the situation,i don’t need to add anything.

    Have a nice day

It works nicely with Transmission, but not many people use Linux. Bad luck.

I think it happens because I'll respond before I've seen someone else's comment which appears later in the thread. I mean, who reads every post in the thread before they respond? Then, after you've noticed someone else has made the same point, you'd be wasting your time to go back and delete it.

Sometimes I'll post and say something like 'Ugh, smoove grooves beat me to it." But sometimes that just seems redundant so why would you bother?

You should, it's Audiosex, not Facebook.
Wasting your time? No, you'd be a responsible member for this community.

If I did that, my attention would have wandered onto something else by the time I'd finished reading everything in the thread. If I don't respond when something first grabs my attention, I probably won't do it at all. I freely acknowledge that, from a reader's point of view, it's not the optimum response. Forums might be better places if everybody read every thread in a post before responding. They'd also be better if people stepped away from the computer to give some time and thought to their response. But there's a balance between passion, sponteneity and caution. Veer too far in one direction, you get chaos. Veer too far in the other direction, you get a sterile and boring forum. What you're looking for, ideally, is a balance between the two extremes -- and I do strive for that balance.

It was always my sense that users couldn't actually delete redundant comments that they'd made. So you'd have to edit it -- and it could be a couple of days later, so people might have responded to what I've said, leaving a big blank hole in the thread. If you explain why you've edited it, you're going to take up as much of the readers time as having them read a redundant comment. I find that I've gotten quite good at skipping over that redundant/repetitive information in comment threads over the years -- to the extent that it barely registers with me.

Just as an aside here: SmooveGrooves post advised the use of Chrome for reading rutracker, but he didn't say WHY someone should use it. My post pointed out that Chrome does Russian to English autotranslate, so I don't actually believe that comment was a repetition.

I'll take note of both points for the future though.

Thank you for your detailed answer.
You are right in the way that balance is mainly a goal, even if we rarely reach it, we can tend toward it.
About the off topic, redundant etc... Comments in general, it's a pity, but we cannot read all the content that is created / posted here (that's humanly impossible) , so yes many of them stay.

About your specific comment here, thanks to your explanation I now understand why it was relevant.
Thank you, and sorry if I misunderstood.

Im going to be as polite and succinct as possible. I'm a mod at AN, and take great pride in what we do.
Bluntly: Audionews is the #1, no ads, virus free, audio and gfx software tracker. Period. We are no bullshit, and do not allow posting of said. Mods respond as quickly as humanly possible. If u don't comprehend the reality of seeding 24/7 to build ratio and get a huge selection of audio and video software, sample packs, daws, graphics apps for free, we can't help you. It really is easy: seed. Constantly. We are not going to hold ur hand. Haters: STFU. we are over 120,000 strong. If ya can't seed..pfft. Beat it. - r.

I've been saying it for years, the ratio system of that site is entirely geared around pushing/forcing members to donate. The lack of any bonus system exemplifies this strategy. But unfortunately since they possess a somewhat monopoly on pro audio private trackers now that TAS is gone, they can freely do that type of shit. And I say this as someone with a great ratio who's had no problems staying in the positive.

been an AN user for 15 years, have a great experience. I have seeded long time ago alot of ratio. So if there is something i simply grab it.

the donations and the ratio saves AN from dead/slow torrents. Something which RG, UL or anything else cant be free off.
If not you have the same crap as on rarbg, older torrents simply do not have any seeders and are dead after sometimes 20 days. Thats why there is the ratio. So people keep offering it to download. So it isnt a scam.
Or how else would you solve it?

I do not really use the forum tbh, but sometimes i think torrents are just better for older stuff than RG, etc. as there is a 30 days not download policy, if 30 days not downloaded, the file is deleted, while for torrent it only counts if people are seeding it or if people seed it again if it is requests.

It really isnt though - I did a test run (as users often complain about ratio) about 2 weeks ago grabbing a single 5GB rar file from a new Spitfire release and got 45GB back in under 12 hours. You just need to actually put in a tiny bit of effort.

keep your advertising for gogo's. it is allways the same circus.
the ratio never works as it should.
even sharing 200% any free account will be burned.
your litle moderator power is generally abusive,
and the service is only focused on money to grab from free gifts. nothing more,
it is a commercial torrent tracker for dummies.*

the collection is great and can be usefull, but the service is pure shit. you're a dick head monkey here.

Yawn - I was a bog standard user on there at least 10 years before I did anything else (with a ratio of 2+) and I was also on here years before then too.
Maybe get your facts straight eh before wading in.

Disrepectful? I'm one of the nicest and friendliest mods they've ever had on there and help literally tons of users with MacOS and other questions daily. I've never had any warnings on here either.

I've only been a mod on there for maybe a year or so as well - before then I was a normal user, just like i said. Not playing innocent at all.

OK, guys, time to close this thread.

Only one last head up for those who defend it: How do you keep seeding in poor countries where your connection is so bad and slow? ...
So please, don't present this as "democratic"...

This is not the place to discuss a scam torrent / ratio / pay site.
