i know that DAW for a while bookmarked and horny on a beta test yay! page is here: http://www.indiegogo.com/AudioGL-Crowdfunding-Campaign
Wonder what the learning curve will be like for this? Something like reaktor perhaps? Definitely very modular looking! I think the 3d interface is what makes people go "WHOA!"
I dunno, from a standard style music aspect, and general impressions, I doubt I would..ever.. install that DAW. It doesn't appear very practical to me. From a ingenuity standpoint, its obviously very forward thinking, original and clever.
Hmm.. This is very.. primitive 3D.. and the modular chaining is nothing new.. and u can automate almost everything in most DAWs.. Which bits do folks find badass in particular? Anyway, for me at least, the 'free song' presented, sounded.. umm... undesirable to my ears? (Yay, Post 666)
One Reason, i guess you mean from an instrumental recording aspect of music. ;D For some of us, what you seen there is pretty much a standard style electronic music aspect hehe What i like about it the most is you could put that up on a video screen while u do a gig and change things/create things on the fly, and it makes an interesting show , and to people who know what they are looking at, makes it much less boring to watch!
I'm online via a third party and cannot play the video, so i cant comment on the DAW. I do however like the idea. Getting donations to fund a "Campaing" which in turn benefits the donors. Not in a political sense though. Regular people supporting regular people. A small community of somewhat like minds reaching out to one another, making a human connection through the technology we hold so dear. But everyone with the means to do so would, i think dissagree. I really like the concept. implementation however, may be challenging. I'm always up for a good fight. i'm going to figure out how to do it. Thank you for participating in my mindless drivel.
Looks cool -- But like One Reason -- I just can't justify it. Seems like a lot of shit to learn/relearn --- and I'm working to cut as much of that type of shit out of my work-flow as possible. For me, this would likely take hours and hours of reading and experimentation to get the results I can get through more modest and familiar means; thus 'counter-productive'. Not to say that this sort of thing doesn't have it's place, or isn't cool --- it does, and it is. Just not in this kids arsenal. 2ยข
mmmm, been thinking bout this software all day at work , and a couple of things came to mind... microsoft kinect with the pc sdk plus opengl will rock my world i think the extra resolution of the kinect with the full hands implementation will make this very fun to use.
I would love to use this, and to be proficient at it. It looks so fashionable and stylish - it suits me so well! However, unfortunately, it looks like even if you know the program inside out, doing things will still take much longer than on your average daw. Besides, I really dislike modular workflows. Give me something pre-patched any day.
I guess you are just impressed of the demo track inside that vid. Ok, it looks nice, but the individual parts are the same like in any other daw: Oscillators, filters, envelopes. Everything you see there is easily done in any other daw. Check out Reaktor, if you want to make your own "synth" like seen in AGL demo.
Sounds awesome !!!!!!! But I'm not sure the guy will manage to release it one day ! Look : http://www.indiegogo.com/AudioGL-Crowdfunding-Campaign (I'm about to donate $10) EDIT : ArticStorm already posted it, sorry
That's right ! And same as few other ones I forgot the names... Max ? And another one... BUT this one seems to be more "fun" ! I don't know... Maybe I'm wrong, who knows :p
Hi guys! How's it going ? I would like to have this one plus a 3D virtual reality system to immerse myself in it and 'touch' the music all around me! I like very much also the flow of sound signals going to the infinite, like if they were to meet with someone else at the end. It would be marvelous travel with them to the unknown and disappear there with them! Anyway i guess ours sons, or the sons of our sons will do music this way in the near future ... if crisis don't ruins everything. Kind Regards!
Yes, I know it may be more difficult to learn to use it properly. And yes, I know, there's nothing that you can do there that you can't do with any other DAW. But, the reason I posted it was because I thought it will be much fun to experiment with something like this than experiment with any other daw. With this I mean, you make a patch and see how it's represented on 3D and try to make some kind of shape that you want, and see how it sounds and vice versa... Of course, it may be end up being just "some sort of toy"... However, if it ever get released, it may be good to give it a try... At the end, we all like to experiment with sounds... Cheers!
