I'm a professional, I use a couple of interfaces;

An RME HDSPE MADI connected to 3 x SPL Madison for mixing and a Lynx Hilo for mastering. I can't say I've experienced any problems with the set-up because the Hilo is standalone, as are the Madison interfaces. The only connection to the computer is RME and their drivers are rock solid.

 

Hello, I'm a poorfessional I use a RME Babyface pro, for a bit more than 4 years.
And as my fellow RMEist have stated a lot of advantages and not much disadvantage... ;)

To be honest, I'm surprised by the results so far, I was expecting a majority of Apollo & Focusrite users... I wouldn't have thought that RME would dominate here.

 

Since I do this as a full time profession and I've mixed and mastered a number of commercial releases, hearing that you feel I'm *almost* in the high-end range makes me feel warm inside.

 

For my understanding, your gears mentioned above are in the high-end range in terms of quality, if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me

2) Since 2014 (added 2 more newer models since)
3) works perfectly, sounds great, very low latency and able to set up monitoring reverbs quickly for singers and instrumentalists.
4) professional 30 years.

 

May I ask whether you are, in Europe or the USA?
I think in Europe the trend is more towards RME and in the USA more towards Apollo

Preamps, sincerely have no clue, don't record anything here. It's rock solid so far on M1 Air with latest Sonoma, didn't really tried it with Windows (there I use RME 9632), it's my on the go interface for this laptop, got it mostly because of amazing headphone out and plans to upgrade my cans to beyerdynamic's DT1990.

- for about two years now

What advantages or disadvantages have you found with your audio interface?
- As advantage it is a perfect swiss knife especially for tracking DI bass guitar (and vocals too), offers a large choice of exclusive dsp powered plugins, very rich and powerful sounding pre-amps, EQs and Comps - just like you had a direct in line recording chain set up with various hardware effects and racks and all of them sound just great. The only disadvantage is i had to get used to the clunky UI of its control panel, the mixer and an awkward user preset system, all of those could have been better designed.
