    FakingTheFunk.
    You should explain why.
And I want to point out once for all that the comparison was not from from the original FLAC (1th picture) to mp3 that is obviously of degrading quality, but from CBR to |VBR or ABR| mp3 encoding of different encoders.
Whatever encoder, at 192k, CBR wins, I mean, it's easy to read frequency cut from those spectrograms, it's even marked.
21kHz+ for the original lossless, 18kHz for 192k mp3 and 16kHz for VBR and ABR mp3 (whatever encoder).
And I think you're speaking of Thimeo, that I think is just real time, like SPL Hawkeye.

yep got my vowels switched up.

But its not a visualizer it actually effects the audio and recreates the spectrum that has been cut off by compression with its suite of tools. Nothing will ever bring audio back to its lossless state but its a good plug to have in the toolbox for tasks like that.

I never meant to affect a fucked up audio.

Actually, to me, if it's gone, it's gone, and unless you can't find that particular audio on the internet I would never go into a complicate revamping process of doubtful result.

In case I have old personal audio recordings not available anywhere else, the best I could do is gate out/compress noise and a bit of EQ.

Sorry I see now this post.
You're right that you can't tell about colorization of the encoder, but having more than one encoded same reference audio you can at least judge the overall quality by frequency cut, better than nothing.
Lossless Audio Checker works only with wav and flac, that is of no use for mp3 and similar compressed files. It's useful only if you don't trust the "reference" files origin.

Speaking of mp3 instead, if you see a cut at 16kHz in an audio track title encoded at 320k, and a cut of 18kHz from the same audio track title at 192kHz, you can tell that the first was encoded from an already degraded/compressed audio.

That is the only primary purpose of the so called "fake detectors", actually bandwidth analyzers.
