New IR Tool
This tool enables you to create your own IRs, with output support up to 9.1.6 channels.


Computer activation
The Altiverb license can be activated on a computer or on a USB iLok key. The iLok USB key is NO LONGER required.


VST3 Plug-In
To ensure compatibility with worldclass VST host applications (DAWs) like Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo and Digital Performer Altiverb 8 features a VST3 plug-in.


Center
Almost all IRs have been supplied with a real center channel for LCR or 5.0 7.0 without center bleed.


Backward Compatibility
altiverb 8 is fully backward compatible replacing altiverb 7 in your sessions.

€ 1,027.29 (incl. BTW) for XL. Can you look at the upgrade price using your registered email address?

I bet it is an expensive upgrade from 7, when they won't even show it. I always look to see what upgrade pricing is like before buying something new. You can guess what your next upgrade costs will be like.

Btw, after all those years, shouldn't they have released an update to Speakerphone? Seems, they haven't heard yet of VST3 or companies such as AudioThing.

Overpriced, certainly. Over-rated, I do not agree. Maybe years ago; but I do not see very many users hyping it up still, like they do even with simple old Valhalla.

ah, at PluginFox, 7 to 8 regular is 99 bucks, and 7 XL to 8 XL is 199 bucks
at AudioDeluxe, from 7 regular to 8 XL price is 499 bucks,
not that terrible

 

Guys, just a reminder: Altiverb 8 is Mac only at the moment. The Windows version will be rolled out later.

 

That's not a question of "knowing" , it's a question of "caring". People complain about all aspects of their jobs, all the time. Apple really do seem to be whipping through some of these new MacOS versions quickly. But is that so much different than programming for PC's where people install millions of randomly selected components and want them all to work? Apple spring these things on hardware vendors, too. A new macOS will be released, and users will wait a month for new software for an audio interface every time they do it. They blame each other and in the end, people just have to wait.

 

Yes, but now you can activate it on your computer through ilok manager, a physical ilok is no longer necessary

v7 was iLok already, so it's not really a change. But obviously in it's newer "actually keeping you out this time" more optimistic version.

 

it's been 7 yrs since AudioUTOPiA gave us this beauty...

 

Is there anyone else that finds it crazy to release a product (especially a flagship product from a well-known developer) with only one out of the two target OSes? Why not just wait until both releases are ready?
