in my book this thing blows effectrix, glitch, looperator and what not out the water .
my problem with it like with live cut , to get it triggering at exact points to avoid time intense audio fiddeling with recorded parts to fit in the arrangement ,which can bring out great new shizzle too as we all know but yeah....
do ppl here still use it or know a golden tut like i posted as very last one in the aphex twin plugin sample

That's an oldie but a goodie @Auen Fred!
Haven't used it in awhile, as I don't think they have a native arm version for macOS, (right?)...

But I like Audio Damage, and cool of them to release their legacy stuff for free...

I installed Automaton for Mac, and I could only get it to open in REAPER as VST plugin format after installing, so maybe this is one of those rare plugins where I have to reboot to open it in Logic. I 'll try that later.

What are you trying to get it to do? Does it accept keyboard data or incoming Midi data to trigger it? How about putting something like Seqund Lite/Seqund or Stepic in front of Automaton in the chain?

    Or find other plugins?

audio damage replicant is another buffer effect but also different horse at all...
ad automation does great stuff for all kind of stuff , i turning of the bitcrusher often...
    try it on masterbus too...

i think there is no trigger via midi key
    never heard of it

after I rebooted finally, it works fine in Logic. It is "legacy" but it still works in a 64 bit host without using any jbridge or 32lives etc.

If you stick mfx plugins in front of your sound source (synth/sampler), then Automaton as an audio effect, it can get crazy quickly, but controlled. You can control the output of the synth by midi triggering it at the mfx plugin. Then you can have much less complex patterns to make in Automaton but still making use of all its features, and keeping things synced or triggering however you want. This is a very nice free plugin, but as you suggest, using the tiny cells could be very tedious.
