Graillon is a new kind of voice octaver that tracks pitch frequency and mixes frequency-shifted copies of the input voice with itself.

    Graillon is useful for:
    • Producing distorted vocals from clean vocals without crosstalk between harmonics,
    • Reinforcing vocals low-end,
    • Getting a more masculine or robotic-sounding voice,
    • Displaying strong fifth and quart harmonic relationships in vocals,
    • Having fun with a microphone and a DAW.
Only the voiced part of the signal is changed. The unvoiced part of the signal is left untouched, to preserve the original speech's intent.

    Sound Samples:

Ian Marquis - One Way Glass (Graillon Mix)
Applied on some vocal parts of this Industrial song

Local Natives - You And I (Auburn Sound demo remix)
Wet/dry example with all controls on, applied on this vocal stem

Jabriel Biquet - Turn Me On
Boosting the 1st sub-octave masculinizes a voice. With added reverb and limiter

Laure Claix - Puisque j'oublie (Vocal Stem)
Wet/dry example with the Robot Heart preset, reverb and limiter

Graillon is a culminating point, but not the end, of a long search for new kinds of vocal effects. It was designed from the ground-up to be instant. Once warmed-up to the sound of your voice, processing is latency-free. For latency reasons, Graillon uses frequency-shifting as opposed to pitch-shifting. So the result will sound disharmonic, especially for the high notes.

For best results, use a mono input, with minimum noise levels, without reverb, delay or chorus effects.

Graillon is available as VST 2.x for Windows XP+ and Mac OS X 10.6+

Graillon is available now for $49

"Placebo" (*) button? Placebo is a fake remedy... comical.

(*) Placebo: as a final touch, this parameter makes it sound 30% better.

The Placebo button makes you believe that it sounds better. Maybe it's just a Mute button.
