Funny thing I just installed BitDefender because Windows Defender was making me lag in some games I thought. So BitDefender started blocking everything by #1 team and a bit of a pain making BitDefender ignore them having to restart after making exclusions. Then shortly after I had a warning from BitDefender that an attempt was made from Spain to change and log into my BitDefender account and I had to change password. Not sure what it means but funny coincidence, never had to go change a password before.

It is interesting that ^ and the OP both mention gaming in the thread. I have seen malware attempted to be uploaded to Audionews before.
The person was going on sister site, looking up releases from that day, and then trying to upload different files. The file sizes never matched audioz files, and they were a specific file size every time. The admin would delete the file, ban the account and that was that. After a few days of it, it was fixed behind the scenes.

The easy tipoff though about it, was the user accounts creating new torrents. Older accounts with 0 posts. Mismatched info from real releases to what was being uploaded. There are only a few uploaders on there who do nearly 100% of the uploads. Those guys would never bother to do any of this.

Been using AN for 6 months now and zero issues with malware or viruses. Funny enough I got a virus BEFORE using AN from god knows where (think it may have been rutracker). They managed to install ScreenConnect and I thankfully caught it running in my task manager. anti-virus usually wont pick up screenconnect as it's technicially not a virus though it is used in payloads to gain access to the machine.

And yes - as long as you downloaded it from one of the usual uploaders + the files match on the sister site then you have next to zero to worry about anything. I personally avoid downloading from new members or those who haven't contributed much to be safer.

You should message mods at AN with the file names and link to the torrent. If there actually is something nefarious then they would 100% like to know.
