Hey, I was wondering if someone would help me recreate the synth in the intro of this song attached to the post. I'm pretty much a complete beginner when it comes to synths XD Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you are speaking about the string sound, it better seem to be a sampled phrase than a synth, as you can hear some articulation that are rarely done with a synth.

    Because hammered dulcimer:

There are dulcimer libraries out there for N.I Kontakt, etc.

    etc

Or if you rather prefer a boring dulcimer preset on a synth, splashed with some stereo chorus and some reverb - then go for it!

I mean the string synth in the background playing the chords. At least I think it's a string synth. It sounds like it xD.

If I were to re-create the dense background "chords", I'd rather use a shimmer reverb and a phaser after it, feeded by the Dulcimer-like source.
It sounds like all notes played on the initial synth Dulcimer are captured in the "reverb cloud".
I'd rather do this kind of sounds on the iPad (Stria, iDensity, iPulsaret) but on PC/Mac, ValhallaShimmer might be worth a try. Prepare for some good tweaking time however.

The synth chords at about 4.0 seconds is a "usual" synth string pad with opening LPF and some resonance present, playing a Gmaj7 most likely.

BTW, even a simple reverb might get you close - here's an example done with "Reverb" on iPad, preset="Small Room" but with increased walls reflection, distances and lower damping factor. (no phaser here yet)

Amazing! That sounds very close. I'll give that a go. Thank you! And thank you to everyone else who chimed in, too!
