Hello everyone
ASIO4ALL sometimes not working in Studio One
when i open new projects or loading projects when i hit space bar to playing region not works
for fixing this problem i should reset it in audio settings or make defaults even when fix my project has no sounds
i don't know why studio one has problem with ASIO4ALL
Cubase , Nuendo , Pro Tools , Fl Studio and ... working like charm !

Get a real interface with real ASIO drivers. Used Presonus Audiobox USB's are a dime a dozen on eBay
and they integrate perfectly with S1....rock solid.

 

You may have to use an earlier edition of ASIO4ALL since the resampling features have been removed on the latest one for certain onboard soundcards. In the advanced features there are resync settings.

You do not need an external audio interface if you are mixing inside your Daw, and just using a USB midi controller into computer etc.
ASIO4ALL can handle massive projects with lots of heavy plugins ( just increase the buffer in Asio4all).

 

How to set up the BlackStar Amp in Studio One 5

If you are on a Windows machine, please install a free program called ASIO4all on your system to use as the audio driver for your Blackstar amp. You can download ASIO4all from the following link:

During the install of ASIO4all, make sure to place a checkmark to install the Offline Settings. Once installed, you can open Studio One and go to Studio One>Options>Audio Setup and set ASIO4all as your audio device.

Once you have set ASIO4all as your audio device in Studio One, you will see a small icon of a play button in your startup tray (next to the clock in the Windows status bar).

If you double-click this icon, you can choose the devices on your system that you would like to be communicating with Studio One via ASIO4all. Here is a screenshot:

Not as powerful as Asio4All, but Steinberg Universal (perhaps Generic) ASIO Driver is the most compatible.

 

Studio One is not my main DAW
Im using studio one sometimes
Im Cubase Users
so , i haven't audio interface at my home
I want to use with ASIO4ALL
In Cubase asio4all is stable and okay ...
But in studio one not good

 

There are so many alternatives for ASIO, if it's really a bug in ASIO4ALL, just move on to one of the other ones. FlexASIO, ASIO2WASAPI, ASIO2KS, the aforementioned Steinberg driver.

If you need a driver for a Realtek chip, you can use the official Dell one - it comes with ASIO, unlike most other vendors' drivers.

Generic ASIO-driver for WDM-kernel-streaming capable soundcards.

The ASIO2KS project started out in 2003. I had bought myself a Terratec EWX 24/96 soundcard for my private music-projects. At the same time I found out about the new low-level soundcard-driver scheme of Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP: WDM kernel streaming.

As we were thinking to use the kernel-streaming-interface for some products at my company, I started to delve into the kernel-streaming interfaces to get to know them well enough.

I figured that this interface that could access soundcards at a low level and circumvent the MS kernel-mixer, would enable me to create an ASIO wrapper-driver which could be used to access off-the-shelf soundcards with professional audio-software using the ASIO-interface at a very low latency.

So ASIO2KS developed into a little learning-project for kernel-streaming. Since my interests have moved on somewhat, no further work has been done on this project for some time (adaption for WaveRT in Vista for example)

In the meantime someone else has also developed a good solution in this realm: ASIO4ALL. So in case you are looking for an up to date generic ASIO-driver, this newer project is probably the way to go

With which backend and buffer size though?

If you're on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or a very old version of Windows 10, you can not get less than ~15ms latency with ASIO via WASAPI, even if you see lower numbers in your DAW.

The latency displayed in your DAW is your ASIO driver's guess (<--- really important) - it is not a real world test - the driver is free to tell you any number it wants to: 1, 69, 420 or 2025.

If you want to measure real (as opposed to guessed) latency, you must use a roundtrip test. You can not do this in your DAW (unless you are 900000% certain that your DAW does not do any automatic latency compensation of any kind).

I has been my experience with original asio4all and pretty much all its clones that it really doesn't give you much more than a standard windows wasapi driver. The standard system board driver will certainly be much more in tune with the onboard audio chip than any asio4all could ever be. If you want real ASIO performance then get a small but decent audio interface that comes with its own stable ASIO drivers. More than likely you won't have any more trouble with using either one of your chosen DAW's.
