    Hello there,
    I coincidentally discovered this today in a twitch stream from muckybeats, he said that it's from a friend who works in Arturia.

    It's an Ensoniq SQ-80:

    I don't think so, Mucky is the kind of producer whose insights are appreciated in the audio industry.

    one being ensoniq, what's the other one (or two), they usually release 2 or 3 right ? anyway, maybe OT but Cherry Audio is releasing a new Jupiter 4 or 6 or 8 though (from the suggestion in the comments).

    Wish were more exclusive synths like elka, polivoks, rare moogs, korgs, rolands, soviet synths....

    Hopefully they'll add some of these for V9:

    - Access Virus;
    - Waldorf Microwave 1/2/XT/Q;
    - Roland JV/JD;
    - Oberheim Matrix 12 remake;
    - Prophet 5 or VS remake.

    I think it's a great idea, I love Ensoniq, and the eighties are my years!

    If ever you wanna know what's inside, with an interview of the founder (special Comodore 64 ex-fans, look at that!):

    Yamaha DX1 it will be great, too (IMHO). :guru:
    However: Matrix 12 and Prophet 5/VS already exist from Arturia, arent? (perhaps not in V8 I don't have checked this).

    Roland has a good handle on their own synths, I don't expect Arturia will bother with the JV/JD stuff due to the required licensing of the roms

    No need to add Virus and Q... Dsp56300 community already ported all the code from virus b/c dsps/chips. It opens rom, ram, banks. 1:1 identical sound, even with internal non-standard sample rate which automatically resamples into DAW sample rate. It is FREEWARE. Donation are very welcome. It works only with Virus HC virtual editor/controller thru loopMIDI driver, next updates will be improvements of performance, stability, bugfixes, and GUI (to kill dependency from controller and midi loop drivers) etc.
    Next are waldorf, novation, clavia nord synths...
    Very CPU hog, one-two instances on my i7 3770k. Because it is true code translation, requires tooo muuch from your processor.

    Can help with routing in reaper

    I'd love to try it out if nothing else for the nostalgia factor. I had an ESQ-1 enjoyed its sounds, weight for portability and onboard sequencer. I didn't like programming it much as well as its keybed was shite.

    @mild pump milk I too still use an old i7 3770K

    thanks for the link, I watched all the synth wizard series for the past few hours, I never know about this company. Great stuff. :like:

    I'm so curious about his one (Polivoks), is the community Reaktor Ensemble remake (i think there are 2 of them) really showing how it is capable of ? I mean, I kinda like its wild nature, but a little hard to program.

    I know Matrix 12 and Prophet 5 were done, but the first one isn't that convincing and the second one is completely out of place compared to u-he version.

    And even if Korg and Roland synths have been done by the respective manufacturers, they were in the V9 Survey from Arturia itself, that means they could still do them regardless of the current situation.

    Last but not least, Roland JV1080 isn't a real JV, it's just their XV5080 reskinned to look like a JV1080. Confirmed by Don Solaris, even if similar, they sound different.

    Thanks for your reply, I know about the project being part of the discord server but sadly so far they need so much power that an emulation would come handy, even if not 100% close to the real thing, it'd serve as a more cpu friendly option and different palette of sound as Arturia Prophet V is against u-he Repro :bleh:

    I owned an ESQ-1 which, I believe was the precursor of the SQ-80.
    It was cheap and 8 voice multi-timbral with 3 osc's/voice.
    Thin, but run through an Alesis Quadraverb, it ripped holes in matter.
