This Symlink method is a sensational discovery for me, I'll try that. I've always wondered why I had to fill my root disk with super-heavy libraries, a lot of lame installations do not give the option to use ext hdd's for them.

Hopefully this is not off topic. but I have to admit I think I am liking the symbolic links better than the installs. it
s been keeping my registry cleaner and it's easier to uninstall and update. Example Kontakt 6 and updates.

 

what is the easiest way to put big libraries (or plugin sound) on an external hdd and point Mac OS to it? this would be super useful for me as im formatting my computer tomorrow
