A US-based digital agency, Space150, recently created a song: well, lyric and melody, sonic, and vocal style created via Artificial Intelligence.
    What do you think?
The track is called Jack Park Canny Dope Man.

Proof that a certain technology is beginning to mature is when people can use to do silly shit.

Binary computers used to take up an entire floor of an office building and weren't much more powerful than a modern dollar store calculator. Now computers are mostly for teenage boys to look up porn and play video games, the other majority of world computing time goes to steaming and pirating everything.

Such is the way of the world.

Nice to see progress, that's pretty impressive.

I think the song sucks, but also think the genre sucks. But it is funny that AI can create such a tune.. and probably would make money off of it, given the opportunity. Says more about parts of the music industry, IMO, than it does about AI.

..Or maybe I'm just an old man yelling at clouds. lol

Well, listening habits for many people is the background music (when they work, drive a car, commute to work, run or put a child to sleep).
In fact, there are many people who choose music by asking Alexa to play 'some kind of rap'. And because algorithms set Alexa choices, they may listen to it.

Start by dropping autotune and maxing it out at 100%, then saturate and compress the hell out of the vocal with like an LA2A, then do a massive lo cut so that it sounds like your singing out of a tin can. bonus points if you put a nice little high shelf after so we can really hear that digital airy sparkle.

Agree. Mabye it's the other way round: the genre sucks therefore the 'song' sucks.
For me, all these 'songs' sound the same and are as nice as the sound of a vacuum cleaner. If an AI makes the vacuum cleaner sounding a little bit differently it remains a vacuum cleaner sound to me.

But it's not the AI being an idiot.

I think we will see more and better AI made music in the not so far future (as a guess 10years):
What can be done, will be done. If we like it or not (I don't btw).

And because music is strongly rule-driven I'm convinced Ai will be able to create real songs of a certain level of complexity in the future.
And one day - hopefully far away - an AI will create a song that even experts can hardly distinguish from a simple pop song created by humans.

Maybe that will be the day when music industry will start to focus on quality again.
Because an Ai driven music creation won't need a music industry in the long run. Because sooner or later every computer would be capable of that quite low level of Ai and therefore the people won't need neither as songwriter nor a music industy anymore as their computer will be able to generate simple pop 'music' on the fly.

Maybe we will see a renaissance of classical music or at least e.g. a quality level like the rock music of the 60s and 70s.
Because that high level complexity will be very difficult to adapt for an AI for a very long time.

I think it sucks equally bad as the 'real' music. Nicely done. :like:

Remember Deus Ex with that virtual pop star? That's what eventually is going to happen. 'Artists' 'making' 'songs' like that today will get replaced by AI, as factory workers were by robots. There will still be room for real artists though, as no AI is going to create a Bohemian Rhapsody anytime soon.

OpenAI's "Jukebox" is pretty incredible to be honest. The using AI + humans stuff isn't really AI imho.

This guy has a channel of all OpenAI "Jukebox" continuations where the AI (trained on over 1,000,000 songs found crawling the net) attempts to continue the primed clip w/ the artist/genre/lyrics prompts it's provided. 100% computer generated music:

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIFwlxGub_Bn2ozBFseiKAA/videos

He renders mostly rock songs but there are a couple DaftP on there. The process takes 10hours+ to generate 1min of audio and that's with Google Colab (GPUs).

No offense to anyone but most of you dont even know what Artificial Intelligence even is. Its not what you think it is and what you have been told it is. Its entities (in reality demons) from another dimension. Ever heard of the phrase "Ghost in the machine", ever wondered where that came from and what that means? Let Geordie Rose (CEO of D-Wave & Kindle Quantum Computers) enlighten you. Not my words, but his words, except he calls them entities / aliens when in reality they are indeed demons aka the fallen ones of old. Look at the background. It says "we are hiring demonologists, its scratched out and then says software engineers. A great truth right in front of your face, that only a mere few will truly realize and understand:

"He who has ears to hear, let him hear and he who has eyes to see let him see". Not gonna explain it to you. Figure it our for yourselves.

PS: Look at the logo on his shirt. Thats an occult Ouroborus. Just saying. Exact same logo as Ryzen CPU's. How come no copyright issues? They are in cahoots working towards the same agenda. Right in your face. Those with understanding let them understand.

Very interesting, what exactly did the AI do - did it just compose the song and was it then performed and mixed by a human, or did it actually generate the entirety of the sound as well, meaning did it synthesize the voice? Because it sounds pretty convincing (as an autotuned human voice I mean).

Also if the mix and 'master' was done by the AI that would be pretty high end level stuff too :woot:

A human sang the song. The “Travisbott” wrote the not so great lyrics. More info at the link below:
