I was beaten by my dad in all sorts of polyrhythms. It's why I went into music. Thanks dad.

 

My dad did gigs into his early 70s, playing guitar (and singing) until his hands wouldn't allow him to. He has Arthritis and Parkinson's and is 75 now. He still plays a bit of Dobro, I think, but not much. The health issues pretty much ensure he doesn't get too far from his house for too long these days.

 

I feel strongly that a lot of people carried music latently, but didn't use it.
