Kind of a rarity with hardware units as far as I know, wondering if this exists in software yet?

You don't need 50k really, the thing you're hearing is not 50k but the very gentle curves that start at 10-15k. Just set your EQ to a more conservative setting and do broad strokes

edit: noticed this might read like sarcasm but I'm really shocked and excited with the Diamond Color....

The free Luftikus by lkjb goes up to 40k. But according to my measurements, if you crank it up until you notice it, it aready raises the freqs below 10k.

You realize human hearing doesn't go above 20k right? And thats if you have amazing ears. Even if somehow you were able to hear that, whatever speakers/monitors you use most likely aren't going to be able to accurately produce that high of frequencies.

damn... You're right... I guess the hardware and software developers for this unit were really just fooling my ears :dunno:

Diamond might be my favorite AA plugin so far.

From my mixing experience (and this is just my opinion), mixing on Adams for as far as I can remember, yes, you need those high frequencies (in reasonable amounts that is).

Works especially well for vocals, synths/pads/strings, even drums (overheads/room mics) sometimes or when using parallel compression .

Of course that the eq curve gently starts lifting around 10-15k region (depends on the eq) but it does something to those upper "inaudible" frequencies that you might not necessarily hear right away
I.e. you can feel the vocal opening up in a dense mix and cutting through just in the right way without being harsh etc.
Just one of the examples, try it yourself

It works in a similar fashion the sub frequencies work, you can't always hear them clearly (being able to tonally distinguish them) but you feel them resonating through your body.

Think of a bell or shelf curve. The point you set it to is the center of the bell, or in the case of a shelf -3dB before maximum point in a boost. 20-40k in these EQs starts way earlier, well into 5-10k.

There are other reasons to sometimes process >20k frequencies, such as when dubbing LPs half speed.
@KungPaoFist Use GoldWave for that - it offers the most precise manipulation above 30k. Up to 30k, Pro-Q2 should be the best.
