I quite like the channel strip. It doesn't add harmonics or anything, but it's just fast to use. Some of the competitors don't even get the harmonics/saturation right, or just reuse the same saturation from their other plugins. Pretty weak.

Luckily the X-saturator is awesome. Channel strip and x-sat on every channel can get some serious business done.

Nice thing about the channelstrip is the compressor seems to bring out the body of things more than other ssl channel strip plugins. A lot of other ones seem to get papery and brighter the more you smash them.

 

No UAD here, nope.

 

I have asked for a demo. i'll check them out compared to others before buying. Thanks for your input you all

 

The only thing that I liked about the old Duende native plugins is what the EQ vst did to the low end...blissfully.
Perhaps a slight waiver as well as nobody, especially the op asking, however, if I had coin and were looking for something to add color to what my fictional (in a dream I own a pair) Sanken CU-41s would capture, it would be this new thang from SSL, Fusion. It is rather expensive, but I am sure the resale value would be very good and fetch you more than the software would or could fetch, and we all know about trying to offload UAD stuff, as far as I know you can only sell effects in groups but not individually.

Just did a quick test between a bunch of SSL Bus Comp plugins.

The most identical sound wise, to the SSL Duende was the Overloud Comp G.

Native Instruments Solid Bus Comp was the weakest. Probably why I uninstalled the NI Effects years ago.

it has a great looks, but i dont need that, use just some digital vst or buy the true original hardware, do not use the emulation shit

 

i cant understand why stiill so many stupid use uad shit, uad has no advantage compare with vst, they were working like a waves just collecting many much dead hardware old guys and develop the fake shit, the uad signal chain in the production has much much more latency and unreasonable d/d and a/d convention can destroy the sound, if you need out board dsp effect in chip style, buy a fpga old shit or someone has onboard independent processor chips
