Instagram user FuckJerry in reference to the eternal rivalry between the two technology companies

Yes, there is a marketing scheme behind this, that's for sure. So let's make gay jokes! Really?

Not so simple to me
It is the same than Kardashian family.
You can think it is not news worthy (like me). But medias still push it in your mind anyway. And at the end, if you are like me and don't giving a sh*t about it, you are just bored at first. And completely agressive after weeks, months, years of this sh*t you don't care about.
Same about sh*tty music. You want to ignore it, but everytime you turn on radio, TV, internet...it is there.

Saying you just need to ignore is not enough, when everywhere you go you see/hear something :mates:
It is called mass media brainwashing. So what ? I will not use internet/TV/radio anymore just because of Lady Gaga, Kardashian familly and a gay CEO ?
    Yeah...may be i should

THANK YOU Rasputin to put this into writing. Really, thank you!

It is not at all the same as the Kardashian family, since there is no discrimination against them.
There is a fundamental difference between acceptance and ignorance, and Rasputin's statement is not a plea to just ignore deviance.

And maybe we`re just domesticated primates, constantly seeking "better" compensations for our lack of self esteem?

If in 1950 one would`ve claimed that 60 years later most people will carry a pocket-size computer being online around the clock & almost everywhere ...
A most likely answer:"That lunatic should be incarcerated instantly!" ...
What if I claim that in another 60 years "paradigmatic thinking" will become common sense? No more narcissism of any kind?

We are a young species after all, without getting into psychological/spiritual terrain, this "becoming god like" civilisation is somewhat neurotic and illustrates very well that our main motivations are fear & shame, apparently.

Sexism, racism & fascism is the same disease, in my not so humble opinion.

I think it's a double-edged sword. Because you have the victim mentality that tries to persuade the public through some questionable means by "getting in their eye". Surely many people must have bad experiences due to discrimination but I think it's more important to inspire respect for your choice through being a decent and well-mannered human being and not going about shouting it in people's faces (same goes for someone who dislikes gay or other 'special group' people). Sure, you need to make your situation known but getting in people's faces with something they find inappropriate (like a gay parade or a beating of a gay person) could do more harm than good (give chances to call you out for being provocative, for example). (The oh-so-sensitive political correctness side)

But, of course, many idiots will justify their position or doings because "they have the numbers", "justice is with the majority" mentality and stuff like that. The right to being stupid is one that can't be challenged and is always valid. :bleh:

On the other hand, it's an effective way to make issues known and get attention. I still think it's a matter of education and respect and not about fireworks. Maybe "ugly" or fat people or drunkards should protest for being called ugly or fat or stinky. They just don't fit a norm (or rather, a perceived standard). (Or are just objectively stinky  ) [+ What Rasputin pointed out]

"You stink!" vs "Dude, that's not good for you. Maybe you'd like to consider that it's unhealthy and this and that..." or even "Don't expect anyone to pay for your hospital costs in the future" (Although, maybe, a really civilised society w/should do it anyway - If for no other reason, because people can learn from mistakes or after they have gone through a situation or its results [and managed to get away with/through it])

Consider the difference in approach. That's how you can inspire. (And that still doesn't mean everyone will hear you or change)

Then, you could say, what is the point of strikes and anti-government/political campaigns and protests? I think there's a difference in that most of those things challenge more practical/wider reach issues. Thing is, it happens whether or not the majority is oblivious to many things. There have even been attempts for compassion and understanding to paedos for god's sakes (no, I'm not equating anything)! (For me, as to many others, the act itself is repulsive but I can't claim to know what the drive or the psychology behind it is)

We have this "victimised" psychology thing going on (which is justified up to a certain degree) these days where everyone will find something to protest about or "come out" for whatever reason. I don't see the point in announcing everything. To me, that shows more insecurity than acting. You directly ask for acceptance in my eyes and not saying "that's me". Your actions could tell that for you anyway. Walk the path.

And then, there is also the market(ing)/political side. Same with the recent feminism drama in video games. I guess getting more matters discussed is good overall, though.

And let's not forget that morals/ideas/ideals/(")civilisation(")/etc. are a human made-up convention (albeit based on some practical results, like ending a life) hanging from a very delicate string and can fall apart very easily.

Surely, it's more complicated than that and many things said can be misunderstood but I think you get my point. I could go on and on...
