Got you guys a bunch of pics from ars technica with a touch of my humor, check the last source link for more pics:

Get ready to trip over it by accident in your dark, creepy studios:

Only a glass enclosure is stopping these fanbois from licking it :bleh: (and that chick is watching them closely)

"What, am I not hot enough for you guys?" she said, disgusted, as the men ignored undesirable "beauty" for unattainable "beauty")

Double the power of its predecessor, 2.5 faster, faster, faster...

While Bill Gates almost eradicated Polio among children worldwide, Apple got richer by shifting jobs to China,
so they're able to pay (almost!) 2% of taxes. Good news for the Chinese people...

Sure...It comes with a special grease pack (on the house...) :bleh:

    Totally a mini-mini here
pay, pay it more (now for the flag-stickers too)
I mean it looks that they return home, far away from the chop sticks factories.
Maybe this one should be consumed with knife and fork.
Marketing…business can pull any basic instinct these days.
    I wonder why?

There was actually a story a while back about worker's committing suicide because of the working conditions in their factories. Then another story about Apple manipulating NAND flash memory prices. To me there is no better example of another braindead member of the consumer public than Apple fanboys. They'd buy iShit if it had a good marketing campaign.

Apple a champion of human rights? What fucking planet is Tim Cook living on?
They're customers don't even have rights what else can be said for their workers in China? They recently received 1 star out of 5 in the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Which Companies Have Your Back article. Please.

I actually liked Microsoft's last campaign and the slogan hits the nail right on the head:

To be clear, I'm not buying this (probably) overpriced showroom computer; I don't need to impress my clients with my gear, I need to deliver the end result on time and without making the client pay more to recover the costs of such a PC (yes, this thing is also a Personal Computer).

I want the right tool for the right job.

    P.S.
Lyric8, maybe you could cut and paste the contents of my first post to your first post? I would then delete mine.
Unless of course, you don't endorse my questionable humor

Don't like it or can't afford it? Fine, dont buy

As for my and my house, we will buy. Macs have been making me money, and I get frustrated when trying to use Windows 7 or 8 (have it). Use what works for you. 6 Thunderbolt 2.0 ports is just what I've been waiting for. I'm not so hot for Xeon, but the next gen will likely have Intel's E5 chips. Smaller form factor is great and cancels my search for mini ITX boards with thunderbolt for hackintosh. Dual GPU? great, hopefully CUDA in future. PCI based flash...yes this is how I do my work faster for the client...which means faster pay. U know?

Anyways its not about who's better, its about what's better for YOU

i think it is very important to separate audio /video work.

you need something really strong for DAW / VST, etc ? you don't need a dual-GPU system.
you want to play games ? you don't need something more than a i5 3570k and surely not an apple mac pro (more games under windows)

i'm happy with 2 separate computers for each use.
so this new macpro is going to be really expansive without being optimal for most users.. it's not useful to get every most powerful component, and even less to get them @ apple store as they sell it sooo overpriced. however, who cares when you can afford it.

I hope you don't mean in terms of using cheap labor, because ALL of Apple's competitors do it. So you may not want to own any computer or the parts to build one. People put Apple under pressure because they made more money doing it. AND you should see the line of people applying for that cheap labor because its better than anything else in the country! Don't blame Apple for slightly offering better over there, and paying engineers here very well. Not to mention the programmers who have made well from hardcore coding. I respect Apple for the functionality it provides that I can't get from Windows...I CAN get it from Ubuntu, but not the App support :dunno: .
Besides, the new Mac Pros are designed and assembled in the US. Be GLAD the manufacturing doesn't occur here, we have enough hazardous waste to keep our hands full.

BootCamp will continue to support Windows. After all, Microsoft owns a percentage of Apple and they are business partners in many areas, sharing patents and such.

I don't generally hear about other computer company's horrid working conditions in the news, I hear about Apple. Also that's only one of my concerns. The main one is that Apple controls what I can do with the products I've bought more than any other company and that's something that doesn't fly with me. I have an iPhone and I feel that I can only do what Apple thinks I should be able to do, kind of like a dictatorship (which it is). I also hate their interfaces but that's another story altogether. To me Apple is all flash and no substance and honestly the culture surrounding the company makes me want to vomit. Of course use whatever feels right for you but I'm allergic to Crapple.

This is because Apple sources logic boards from Foxconn, the biggest, most well-known manufacturer of quality parts. And Apple buys in masses to the point where Foxconn has to innovate and build huge plants that gain attention from the whole engineering community. You should take a look at the motherboards in the Dells and HPs, and you'll realize why no one wants to talk about that. And most of what we hear is from the "news" trends.

EVERY non-GNU/GPL product is a dictatorship. You think I asked for Windows 8 to remove the classic Start button just to give me an Xbox-like appearance? You think I like the way Windows Phone looks. I personally think its horrible. But Microsoft dictates. Look how much they charge for the development tools! Xcode is free! And you pay a small fee to distribute, which makes sure you mean business rather than playing around reserving app names for no reason among other issues prevented. All companies have to dictate for several reasons. Most reasons revolve around stability and the fact the "features" do open up vulnerabilities that become a challenge to find and patch. Thats why Windows still struggles in this area to the point of needing 3rd party software that still can't be fully trusted, example would be McAfee. You show me a proprietary software that doesn't "dictate". If you want true freedom, you can go with Ubuntu, for which you can write programs in C.

Funny, thats exactly how I feel about Windows. I bought every version of windows. I even have W8 Pro on bootcamp. Can't stand it! I really try sometimes, but something simple as looking for a program is a headache. On mac, Spotlight is time saver, and of course there is the dock. But we used to say before Apple got really popular: " If you're not into media production or scientific analysis, then you're buying a Mac for style". Of course Apple has made immense effort to make it consumer friendly, but they can't please everybody. If you watch the keynote, or look at the PC market stats, the numbers speak for itself.

But I tell you this friend, Apple is not all flash. I do complex work for my company that still runs Xserves and performance is excellent. If there was another full featured Unix OS that combined the power of Apple and RedHat, I'd jump on it. Unix is the key to the success of both entities.

Not many companies could get away with acting like Apple does. Removing a start button in an effort to evolve is not the same thing as not allowing basic functions because a company thinks that they can decide what a user can do with the hardware that they bought and paid for. What Microsoft did is just a change in interface not the underlying functionality and by the way they're including a version of the start button in the upcoming update. If you don't like the vibe of the new OS you can always use 7 which is beautiful and functional. Looking for a program is a headache? I'm seriously confused when there is a search function which is exactly the way Finder operates. I have been using a PC for the entirety of my life and have yet to have a problem finding something. I'm not saying that you can't work professionally in OSX because that would be a ridiculous statement but I really dislike how Apple carries itself as a company and I would rather use a calculator than use a Mac. My ex had one and I literally wanted to throw that crap out of the window many a time. The look of the OS itself is just an eyesore. When you compare Windows 7 to OSX there's really no comparison in terms of price, power, interface, security and scalability. Apple has a tiny market share and believe me there's a reason for this.

Yes the reason for market share: Apple did not market to the masses initially when Microsoft scored a deal with IBM. Also during their use of IBM chips (G4, G5, etc), Apple was approaching dead end, forcing them to adopt intel and rewrite all their code. Price always kept masses away too. I know people who prefer to buy a $300 laptop just because its available at the price. The majority of PCs sold are among the cheapest in price and quality...sold to companies and people without specific requirements. Most Pro PC users build their own. But growth is the key factor these days in the business of computers. Apple has a higher growth rate, which means new buyers are buying Macs more than the rest.

OS looking like an eyesore? You must be speaking of OS9! Windows 7 security? Are you kidding me? Have you seen the RansomeWare going around? And what makes it scalable over any OS?
