    Great!

Let's hope they won't limit the future versions of the plugins to AU format only. :dunno:

I kinda bet they'll do. Most likely they will natively integrate those products into a logic pro update. It's how Apple is doing things.

    Hi Everyone,

    Hope they do something good.
Remember when Apple purchased that great company Redmatica, nothing happened.
We all thought that Redmatica products would be integrated into Logic Pro/EXS 24 version 3, or a totally new sampler.
    Lets hope this time.

    Alchemy would fit Logic well.
Not that the currently included virtual instruments were bad, but Alchemy - "The new ES-A or ES-3?" :bleh: would take synthesis in Logic to another level, offering various synthesis methods currently not covered by any other Logic VI.
Hey, and finally SFZ support as well!

I'm curious about how Apple will shape the re-born baby.
And it's about time that something new happens on this front

    Hi Fiction,

I agree, that would defiantly be good for Logic users on the synth front.
Camel Audio made great innovative synths.
Hopefully they will do something this time.

Indeed, that's the first thing that came into my mind when I read the post's headline.
But the Redmatica purchase to me had a different intent: Effectively shutting down 3rd party sample creation or conversion, so Apple could sell more Jam Packs or whatever.
The somewhat hurried Redmatica site shutdown speaked for itself.

    Oh nooooooo.

Im happy for the developers of camel audio because they would have got a well deserved buy out for their efforts.

But as a consumer who doesn't use Logic. This is sad news for me because you know the new alchemy isnt going to be available for anyone else and may even end up with some queer looking apple gui so people dont realise its a camel product.

Worst, it will most likely be Logic only like current Logic built-in plugs. Wanna use it? Buy a Mac, and warez Logic (that's their business model)
    Hackintosh FTW.

    Sad day

Camel Audio is a great developer, their already available (but not anymore) VST/VSTIs are top notch. Their CamelPhat/CamelSpace/Alchemy are really great stuff. Even if they do update Alchemy and implement it only in LPX, the already available Alchemy version is more than enough for any of us. I don't see the upcoming (apple) version to be any more groundbreaking than the actual one, because the actual one is a badass already. :headbang:

@Copylefter, yeah well... i'm still waiting for an unusual surprise from Apple in case they will work out Camel's products in the future. Such as... making it cross-platform available.

i guess never read the CA forum on kvraudio?
there were a number of features validate for v2.

when this goes seriously to crapple, i will riot, with that step Alchemy is RIP.

on the other hand macrumors also posted an article, that LPX will be dual plattform for OSX and Windows, so it could be it inst 100% true after all.

Too bad Camel Audio left their place. But I can understand their decision,
it's not an easy game to stay alive and kicking in this (mad) market.

I loved their first Synthesizer Cameleon5000 together with Alchemy.
Tim Conrardy (R.I.P.) was a kind and helpful person.

Life is all about dealing with limitations. We just hit another one, CA has become frozen in time. Now we can really figure out how to get the best from it :bleh:

Nice avatar Kook... which reminds me I didn't see any of your custom skins for a very long time.
    Kinda miss it.

Thanks. Gotta wonder why Apple buys-up developers like this. LPX certainly has little in it, by its latest version, to reflect it. All its old EXS24 sample libraries sound like doo-doo compared to the libraries that have come out for Kontakt in recent years. For example, Apple ought to either bury or radically upgrade its orchestral samples and the interface to control them. Its new compressor is okay, but most of their plug-ins are same-old; totally utilitarian, basic by standards of what's been going on in Third-Party Land. Their Mellotron? Okay - but kinda late to the table, after all the good 'Tron libraries that have come out (M-Tron Pro being but one of them). Same with the new LPX "drum machine" - not bad, but not great. Compared to the Drummers by NI and Toontrack, Logic's is bloatware. For someone just starting in music-creation software, LPX is great with such features, but for advanced users, they're a little embarrassing. If Native Instruments were to come out with a cross-platform DAW, it would take over the world - but NI is smart for keeping an eye on its niche, which is complementing others' DAWs. Logic users even have to resort to third-party developers for GUI modifications that make the thing easier to use; other DAWs come with different themes to suit the user's eye. Apple oughta likewise be mindful of its place, or more mindful of its audience.

    Great news (...if it's true).
I hope Apple lets Camel Audio develop its own products without interfering.
I don't like their policy: we build perfect stuff (...perfect is boring).

haha Apple and cross plattform? both in one sentence? i have low expectations with Alchemy and Apple. it will just go into their own products and to force us to go and buy mac, which i wont do unless apple gifts me one, which i doubt they will do.
