Ever once in a while, for no reason I can identify, my Akai APC40 keeps freezing.

Ableton continues fine, and using the mouse to change things in Ableton works. The APC stays lit as it was but none of the buttons work anymore.

I Googled and found some threads with APC40 freezing but no solution.

I have to save my set and exit Ableton, restart the APC and re-load Ableton.

How can I stop this happening? Any ideas?

Go to preferences and check out Midi / Sync options.

Make sure you have the Control Surface, Input, and Output set to APC40. At the bottom, under MIDI ports, make sure Track, Sync, and Remote are set to ON.

    see if that works

thanks I tried that and it kept stalling anyway. Cant think off the top of my head but there was one row of options on (input?), output was off and I turned them on anyway.

I tried running the APC straight to the laptop rather than through the USB hub and, for now its going good. I havent had a long session this way yet so not sure if Im in the clear yet.

Thanks for your reply and the help mate
