    Hi everyone,
Hope you are all doing fine.
I was using Vital 1.0.8 on my windows 8.1 machine. Worked very very well, stable, zero crashes. Just some known bugs (minor things, like the browser no remembering the filter options after coming back from the synth main panel).
Today I tried to install 1.5.1 available from developer's site, without any luck. Just crashes before opening the main view. It loads, but as soon as I try to open the main view, it crashes (standalone, ableton, reaper, vsthost and nanohost).
I am wondering if it is a graphic card issue, or windows 8 incompatibility, or something else that could have a workaround.
So, has any of you been succesfull in using Vital 1.5.1 or up in windows 8.1?
If not, I will stick to version 1.0.8 for the time being and give up finding a solution.
    Thanks in advance.

It's in clear exactly in the middle of Vital's home page.

Yes, it's probably the system requirement thing. But as you may know, many plugins keep on working on older systems in spite of the official requirements stated by the developers. I just wanted to check it out, once the previous versions up to 1.0.8 were working perfectly in my system (even though the requirements were not fullfilled). Thanks anyway!

Actually it needs Ubuntu 20.04 or Debian 11 for whom it matters. I couldn't run it on Debian 10 which is similar to Ubuntu 18.04.

Oh yeah, it won't work on W7, nor W8. Bad move...

It's one of those rare occasions that Linux users profit more [regarding audio plugins]. :) I am reluctant to update, though. People say it's more buggy than v1.0.8. I really like stability. When I'm drunk making tunes it really erks me when something crashes. REALLY.

Thanks for all tbe replies! Back to version 1.0.8. More than happy with it: stable, fun, good sounding... no need to upgrade for now.

Coming from a place of zero programming skill or savvy to the voodoo of computers, is it possible to download the latest 4.++ driver for my Nvidia graphic card from Nvidia and so get around the Win 10 dilemma? It might be a foolish question, but ....

@Lois Lane, you can download pretty much any driver that was ever maid from:
    https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx

Go to the bottom of the page and chose Beta and Older Drivers, then pick your OS etc

..or maybe you need something particular?
