Anyone tried to Update Cubase EDU 8.5 to 10.5 Pro ?

    Some guy said something that he updated his Cubase 8.5 EDU to 10.5 Pro. I called Steinberg and they said it´s not possible to Update EDU at all.

    Does anybody know ?

    Not true. I'm using Cubase x.x EDU all my life and never had any problems updating the software form their site I'm on 10.5 now...

    I also started with EDU version many years ago (cubase 5?). I am now on 10.5. Never a problem updating, even used the graceperiod once.

    Same here, started with cubase 5 and just recently updated to version 10 with grace period to 10.5 Once you buy an upgrade your license doensn't even show edu anymore, so you should even be allowed to sell it etc.

    Ok thx for your replies ! Then buy the 200 € Upgrade from Steinberg ?!

    Nearly as expensive as the new EDU Version :(

    What the .....is the "graceperiod" and how can I use to update ?

    Hello,

    There might be some confusion here. There is not such thing as an EDU upgrade/udpate. Which means updates and upgrades do not have an educational discount. It could be that that is what our support rep understood, but you can certainly update your Educational version to a more recent one, purchasing an update/upgrade from our online shop or any other online Steinberg dealer.

    No problem to update Cubase 10 EDU to Cubase 10.5 PRO +/- 60€ in France

    To clear this up, I was previously a 10 pro EDU user and paid for the 10.5 and upgraded no problems.

    Now the licence i have is a non EDU
