MBP Mid 2012 running El Capitan. So far so good. Any bad experiences upgrading to Sierra?

I don't want to, I just fear NI etc will force our hand soon.... oh well.... I don't get this unending relentless wave of new OSX iterations myself...

El Cap got pretty stable there towards the end. I'm planning on doing a trial upgrade to Sierra shortly, now that I have Tech Tools Pro 9 and Quicken 2017 (the previous versions were immediately dropped into an "Incompatible Software" folder the first time I attempted an upgrade to Sierra). I didn't really see much difference between Sierra and El Cap, but since my machine is pretty old (2011), I figure Apple's forced obsolescence thing is going to eventually prevent me from upgrading at all, so I'd better stay as current as I can. If Sierra causes havoc with my software, I'll probably stick with El Cap for a while longer.

Also ... didn't Apple claim Sierra would be better for audio professionals?
