    After using several Windows Enterprise trials and Windows 10 Insider, time has come to make decision and purchase something.

    As much as I dig Windows 10, price they ask for Windows is absurd, but on my luck, XP is quite cheap these days and it happens I'm actually fully compatible with my current setup with it, so yeah, long story short, I got Windows XP Home Edition for 10 euros, couldn't be more happier with that purchase.

    My only concern was about Klanghelm MJUC, but I saw on GS that Tony did another render for a customer who is on XP and it's working flawlessly, awesome.

    So yeah, anyone else still rocking good ol' XP?

    As a side note, I did find some nice tweaking&optimizing resources, so yeah, just gonna throw them here, so if I missed anything, do tell:
    Optimize Your PC for Music Production
    Black Viper’s Windows XP x86 (32-bit) Service Pack 3 Service Configurations
    TweakHound’s Super XP Tweaking Guide – SP3 Final

    Unofficial Windows XP SP4
    FX&Instrument Solutions with MAXimum Efficiency
    Windows XP Forums
    More reg stuff

    Much of sp3 for security, i read around web they feel sp2 was best. What to do with software which want sp3?

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
    "CSDVersion"=dword:00000300

    You change this and XP think is sp3 :)

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA\PosReady]

    "Installed"=dword:00000001

    Add that to a notepad file and save it as .reg for free MS updates to XP until 2019

    Also worth checking out, Legacy DAW technology site :goodpost:

    Well, I don't have money laying around to throw on Microsoft, last time I checked XP wasn't that left behind, nothing worth paying dozens of times more, look here :wink:

    Malware from what, I'm one of those folks who use fully optimized offline OS only for audio, so I just need it to let me use my hardware and software, I'm using Linux for everything else. :yes:

    Windows 7 is freaking expensive right now, if you can even score it anywhere legally, any legal path to Windows 10 is too, so yeah, pretty much can't find a reason to spend fortune on newer OS right now when old XP is covering my needs, also from benchmarks difference for audio is not that big to feel bad about it, I understand it's your personal preference, we all got them, hence mine :thumbsup:

    Awesome, thanks, gonna update the post :mates:

    Security is not an issue, I'm going offline&optimized, but yeah, somebody else could benefit from it :thumbsup:

    Their EULA is really not that easy to cheat on legal and moral basis, so only if that somebody is going to give me his legally bought unused licence with receipt, I'm afraid it's legal as torrenting it :dunno:
