    G.Skill RipJawsX blau DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR3-2133, CL10-12-12-31 (F3-2133C10Q-32GXM)

    I'm looking at these since I'm overclocked @ 4.5ghz

Those requirements are a bit crazy, IMO.
I guess experienced kontakt users could argue about the real need to load all the samples in the RAM.
I don't know much about kontakt, but streaming from hdd seems pretty viable to me, since we're talking about a single instrument...

Usually 1600 mhz are the cheapest, so considering the RAM will be running at 1333 they might be the best bang for your buck...

Lately I'm trying to get my orchestration chops up to task and man those orchestral templates eat memory!
There's no way I can load a complete orchestral set with all the articulations with 24gb of ram, that's why many orchestrators use VSL, because it's got its own software to hook up a beast pc with 128gb with most of the samples loaded to a "normal" 32gb machine...

It'd be nice to know from people who are used to work in orchestrating what machine configurations are they using, and how they overcome limitations in that regard...

Ha! I've been on the hunt for a good organ for along time now, but I can't afford 800$... yet!

My favourites are Sniper, Ares, and then Ripjaws series. Sniper is their high end and the lowest latency ones. You can figure out the latency from their "factory name" C10, C9, or CL10 and CL9, or even C8 or C7 somewhere within the name. Take the ones that work at the highest frequency [if your motherboard supports it! check that in the manual!] with the lowest possible C or CL number. :wink:CL10 for 2133MHz RAM is very good. That means it can probably work at CL8 or even CL7 at 1600MHz

edit: I use "Everest" software to benchmark the RAM latency and determine the best setting with highest possible frequency, lowest CL, and command rate 1. My goal is usually 1600MHz 7-7-7-24-1 or 8-8-8-28-1 After you set it, you should use MemoryTest x86 to check the stability and if they're faulty. Cheers! :mates:
