Been using F.lux for a week now, love it. Y'all should try it out; your eyes will thank you for it haha. Anyway, i know its been around for awhile, just making people aware of it.

Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?

Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?

During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9 PM, 10 PM, or 3 AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

    f.lux
f.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better

f.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again.

Tell f.lux what kind of lighting you have, and where you live. Then forget about it. f.lux will do the rest, automatically.

Hi, im new to the community and this is my fist post :)

Im using f.lux since its release. Appels nightshift function is basically the equivalent of windows/androids f.lux app and works as described above in the autors post (smoothly filtering out the amount of bluelight when sun is setting). It is amazing how my sleep scedule changed since i've been using it. Before f-lux/nightshift i went to bed at 4 am, waking up at 12 am (this was terrible, especially in winter). Nowadays im getting sleepy at 12 pm and wake up at 8 am. This way, im getting more real sunlight (and therefore more vitamin D!) and feel better over all. Beyond that, my time kinda synchroniced again with the time of my peers and family, which is awesome. Nowadays, I do most of my work in the early morning and during the day and then go hang out, drink a coffee or two with my friends. It kinda got me back my social life.

Best thing though, it does not hurt your eyes if your working over nights, sitting in a dark room, looking at a screen. I can recommend it to everyone (maybe not the ones doing colous sensitive work, but one can always manually disable it). Go check it out if you haven't yet just to see if you can benefit from it.

Have a nice sunday guys, cheers, Dom

Wow! This is some kind of function of Android to keep screen brighter or duller in relation to light (day/night)?
