Based on the graphics on keygens themselves, probably a whole lot of anime.

 

I would rather listen to R2R chip tunes while installing a program with their key gen, than I would like to listen to the 85dB of 0db DAW Beeping I might get to listen to by using a less skillful group's release. (randomly timed trying to damage monitors).

 

I like it. It's like the handwriting on a found postcard tied to a balloon.
I prefer the music Air did back in the days but I still enjoy listening to the weird and fun 8bit creations.

Something I'm listening to now, a PC demo called "Amnesia". Really nice. Maybe too nice. But definitely atypical for chip music. They have a really interesting message, too. Worth a watch.

p.s. my liver that I lovingly call "Greta" is writing a letter to the UN though. :P

It's actually quite simple: If I couldn't hear the music, I wouldn't have the keygen. I don't mind the thing bouncing around the screen and flashing bright pink. As long as the keygen unlocks the program, I'm happy.

Apart from that: I've heard much worse music while on hold or in an elevator.

 

Keygen midi's are iconic. Remember PaRaDoX, OxYGEN ...

Keygen music is the best part. It's a surprise every time. Also, makes you think fast before the music makes you mess up the activation.

Have to turn of the speakers for complicated stuff with machine codes, though.

 

I think the only "bullshit" is from ungrateful leeches who take and use the keygens that these groups work so hard to make, and instead of turning the sound down (sensitive little ears!), and just saying "thank you for your hard work," whine about a signature of the group - a little song when you use the keygen.
These people work hard, and we never see them - they don't have to release anything - and people like you probably don't make them eager to give you anything else - or, unfortunately, the rest of us. Why should they?
Yes, it's you - you should be on your knees with gratitude for the work they do, (and give you gifts of music-making tools you could never afford) for NOTHING except a little song. And all you can do is call your superiors immature and complain about some audio? Don't have their taste in music? Make your own keygens.
Suggestion: don't download any more of their releases. Audio problem solved.
THEY offer the gifts. WE (you) receive them. So who should accommodate who? They can put anything they want to on their keygens, and I will adapt to it.
Everyone is breathlessly waiting for your next masterful Keygen, with no music. But you won't - unlike the groups you are belittling because you don't like their keygen music - be MAKING any keygens, will you? Because you can't - which means they have skills you will never have, and they are willing to share them. How do you look next to them?

When you are being given a gift, don't criticize the wrapping paper or the bow - it's a good way to NEVER get another gift.
The very LEAST the receiver of a gift can do is say a simple "thank you." Was this too much for you to manage? ​

The music, the sound at full throttle, and everything that the Keygen does, is part of a whole story. That makes it epic and that sound of glory. I hope they never change it.

 

I totally agree with you, and it is what always bothers me about many, they criticize everything for free.

 

- In the first place, you don't know the age of anyone in these groups - you can assume all you want, but you don't know.
In the second place, there's nothing "creepy" about anyone's taste in music - what's "garbage" to you may be art - or memories - to them.
There IS something VERY creepy about a grown man criticizing the taste in music of someone who has given him a gift - which he has accepted - and then calling part of it "garbage." You are right about one thing - your summation of yourself.

That person's hard drive is very likely filled with code and pieces of code - works in progress, and cracking and coding tools you know nothing about, being used by "that person" in ways you are completely ignorant of. Ugh. The tools, code, and whatever else that hard drive is full of are the newest labors of the person and the group to give you something you may want, but have no way to get - except by their use of these tools by them, with their skills, which you are completely ignorant of. Ugh, indeed.
Tradition, by the way, is important to some people. It may be personal, or cultural.
What right do you have to call anyone else's taste in musical keygen dressing "garbage?" Is it so hard to just say "Thank You" for something that you can't do, given to you in the spirit of sharing?

 

how sad it is to read that someone who has benefited from the efforts of others calls "garbage". It's really sad, because I start to think that all the teams do the work with all their love for us, and there are people who say "garbage" to that work. It is impossible for me to understand this. also saying "fuck the tradition" is really disrespectful, disrespectful towards them.

I think if I wrote some software, and the downloaded "their" (r2r) software key generator to check it out; that music might have a fundamentally different sound to it once it started playing. It might as well, it's already Game Over.
