Ive noticed on two different i7 machines, mine and my bro-inlaw's, that the latest Assign Kontakt release is pegging out my CPU usage in LIVE.

Anyone else having issues with it, in LIVE or any other daws, and.. could it possibly be K5's interaction with certain Libraries? Or Kontakt itself?

    Kontakt 5.01.5371

    Cheers :grooves:

OR - I'm using K5 (also at version 5.0.1.5371) but with no probs.

Could it be the single/dual core CPU switch in the settings?

If that is set to single then you will not be getting the best from your system....

Yeah, its set to 8 cores in Kontakt.. Im just wondering if some libraries are being handled well in K5.. then again, one im having issues with is Studio drummmer.

Shouldn't be.. of course.. so I dunno.. :dunno: Anyway, its not happening a lot, but Ive noticed some projects are pegging out the CPU, and in almost every case, when I get rid of K5, it drops to normal levels.

and this is on 2 diff. PC's.

Working fine for me. Reaper with Studio Drummer running on my i5 is using only 10 percent of the cpu. FL Studio running Studio Drummer is at 15 - 20%.

Yeah, my system is quite a bit more capable than that.. well, I'll see how it continues to act, might have just been some one off problems.

It's more than likely a Live 8 issue. :snuffy:

Fingers crossed, thanks guys. :grooves: :mates:

I cant say that K 5.01 is causing specific problems, other than those that started with the 4.2 versions; more CPU use in general, more crashing. No problems adding all the previous libraries in K 5.01 either.

Some people with certain DAWS have more problems than others it seems. Some find the problems go away if they turn off multi processing.

I'm running Kontakt 5 (cracked) with FL Studio 10 (running extended memory)

    My specs are

    Intel E8500 Core 2 Duo 3.16ghz
    4gb DDR2 RAM
    Windows XP sp3 w/ 3gb switch enabled
    20gb Maxtor sata system drive
1TB Seagate Barracuda drive for audio and plugins
max pagefile.sys on all partitions (3 roughly 12 gigs)

All my libraries load with no issues

I loaded up an instance of standard (4 out) K5

    loaded patches from
    Scarbee Mark I
    Session Strings
    Retro Machines
    and Upright Piano

held my arm down on my keyboard across all keys and cpu didn't spike past 16%

I will keep trying to duplicate the issue.
