    from the manufacturer:
The Capstan algorithm is capable of recognizing not only the smallest amounts of wow and flutter but also continuous speed variations within the musical material.
the key is "recognizing"! slow down and speed up is a feature of every daw, audio editor... worth its name. capstan is for recognizing speed variations, and correcting them. its a repair tool, no sound design toy. 5 days rental eur 200, guess why? you treat a rare precious record, and youre done (okay, halfway). please take a look at the manufacturer's, for use cases for capstan.
have you ever heard of an pretty audio effect to rent for only some days? :winker:

Yes, I know what it's made for, but it does also silly things like slow down the track, if you like. It is outrageously priced, but but since I've got a copy....

If you wanna do silly things with pitch, try Excalibur.

yes I've used it as my primary field is audio post production. Nice tool but I've never tried "reversing" it's usage. I mean I've used it to fix old tape recordings with much flutter but never used it as an effect.

I used hardware wow/flutter removal from CEDAR Audio back in the 90's, it had some interesting side effects on live guitars back then (but I did take it to the extremes). Those were some interesting days
