You can try Soundlib G player. It will play Gigastudio sample libraries without having to convert them. And an old version is available on the sister site. There is at least one other sample player that will play GS samples in native format but I can't remember the name. Somebody else on here can help out.

Yes it can play gigs easily but that's it,no more.I mean one of the cool features of the GS was iMIDI programming, similar to Kontakt script presets, and I just wanna try that out.Not that I need it in my work right now or so,just out of curiosity.Since that's a cool feature that can make the samples less artificial and nicer to the ears...
And btw LinuxSampler can also play .gig files directly.

Ah, good to know Parsa. I don't think GS4 was ever released by a team so it will be hard to find.

To my understanding they're the same except GVI was the VST port of the GS which didn't originally include a VST version, instead was using ReWire.

Can I ask why? From the dozens of posts and comments I've read and videos I've watched about it(from before 2010),seems like it was even more powerful than Kontakt at the time.I don't want to base any of my work on it since I've now almost everything I want in kontakt.

A non-working torrent from 2011 is my best achievement so far!

However thanks for your time:wink:.Maybe I should forget about it.
Finding and running old software results in these kind of troubles most of the time!:)

11 years is a long time in software development...
What we thought then will be different now.

    I wouldn't know.
But having said that, there have been very few major changes in Kontakt all that time!
Just an extra in built fx at various points!
I was just more inclined to go with what brother phloops said.
