I'm in a position where I can't use Kontakt 7 yet, I have to stick with 6.7 for the time being.
New libraries are coming out now, of course, that demand Kontakt 7.

Is there any way to make these libs load in Portable 6.7?
Some value in a config or settings file that can be changed, or something like that?

 

I am pretty sure that can't be done, according to those who know Kontakt.
Recognizable names at the RuT site..those who "fix" things.

Why can't you run Kontakt 7?
I was going to install the v7 so i could run the Factory Library (among others).
Then I found Kontakt 7.0.11 Portable at RuT site.

Getting it in place, i needed to scan my main Kontakt Libraries folder and that made me think to do the same with my ver 6.7.1 and it found several I'd missed...nice

So i am running both side-by-side.
I have my Quick Load folder in my own personal location and just symlink it into Kontakt, so I am working with the same QuickLoad in whatever version of Kontakt.
Same for the "...\UserData\User Content\Kontakt\" folder.
Those have my personal effort, so I keep them in my own "Taken Presets\VST\Ni\Kontakt" folder and symlink them.

My only gripe with Kontakt 7 is that the graphics are fuzzy.
I took a screenshot with v6 & v7 side-by-side and it is obvious v6 is sharper.

What's keeping you from using v7 ?

 

Can you pm me so I check those users out? I would also like to know what OP is asking about cause I will be on my Win7 machine for probably another year before I go Win10 or Win11 finnally.

It would be very nice to run some of the newer sample libraries that I'm missing out on trying just because of version difference. I remmber they even reversed the required specs to run soft synths before so why not sample libraries. Surely those have to be less complex than synths, right?

 

I can't install Kontakt 7 yet because I have to stay on my Win 7 machine for the time being, until I can afford a completely new system.
I've tried installing Win 10 on this one in various ways, but HW incompatibility (random hangs) stops me.
No point even trying to install Win 11!

Apart from the few things I can't run under Win 7, it's still an excellent machine.
The last version of Kontakt that works under Win 7 is v6.7.0.
