I need the desk space, want to move my Korg PadKontrol off the desk and onto a snare drum stand.
never purchased one before...

any gotchas to watch for?

there's a lot of cheap 25$ stands available ebay/amazon etc.

Yamaha,DW etc 85 to a hundred bucks. Since I'm not going to be gigging with this thing. and the PadKontrol only weighs about a pound, I'm leaning towards the 25$ cheapie.

when you bark your shins on the expensive stands do they hurt less than the cheap ones?

well any advice is welcomed.

 

I suspect that a el cheapo stand is going to be fine for you because you're not going to be moving it and wailing on it every night; it's going to live a relatively pampered existence and if it does fall apart you can still replace it a couple times for less than what a better one costs.
