Venom VB-303 Beta is a VST x0xb0x clone which runs on the code from the x0xb0x firmware.

It has 2 Oscillators, 3 different Filters (LP 18, LP 24, LP 36) and other exclusive goodies which was removed in the 1.0 version.

It looks completely different than 1.0 version, has different functionality and different sound!

Thanks for the info. "... and different sound!" and how does it sound? I normally just use the Roland + some ext processing when I want that sound, but always up for new flavors.

 

It sounds like modded x0xb0x.

 

I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing? Any opinions, suggestions or tips on it comparing to Roland's or as a totally different synth? And before anyone says 'just try it yourself and decide, take a ticket and wait your turn pal.. I have about 200 others to get to first lol

 

If you looking for close sound to original TB-303 then is bad. Version 1.0 is closer.
When you look for character close to the original but different tone it is good thing.

5. Venom VB-303 (x86 only) (Free!)
6. Roland Cloud TB-303
7. Jim Pavloff Pure Acid (iOS only)

8. ReBirth RB-338 - is not that accurate but have some soul, magic inside. I can't not include it.


The rest is crap! If you wanna most accurate sound.

Hmm... I am not sure but I think it was always free or at least since 2012.
It's made in synthedit but don't let yourself be fooled with the association of it with cheesy quality.
It using firmware code from x0xb0x. Sounds good.
It's 32 bit only unfortunately and that's the only downside.

@Daisy69 why is the roland cloud so down on the list? i think it's pretty cool. sometimes the built in sequencer is GARBAGE so most of the times i play around with midis. haven't tried phoscyon2 yet, but i remember the first one being great

 

Maybe I had bad luck and maybe it was just question of update but when I tested it 3 years ago sound was cheesy.
Similar thing as the hardware TB-03. Both of them hardware and vst had this plastic-metallic tone which I didn't like.
It just doesn't sound as dirt as the original TB-303 and doesn't had this magic.
It sounds cheap and plastic and hardware is more like a light plastic toy and sound is very thin even worse than vst.
Behringer TD-3 is much better than TB-03 & 303 Cloud.

You need to set resolution to like 1024 x 768 I guess to have it like Tom again
