    Arghhh! :snuffy:

    Just installed Guitar Rig 5.2.0
After installation, I can run it in standalone and x86 but not in x64 mode! Why?

There is a Guitar Rig.dll present in my x64 VST folder!

Why is not REAPER detecting the x64 file. :dancing:

    PS. It's Can't, not an't!

Have you pointed Reaper to the vst folder where the dll file is?

Yes! I have added three locations
    C:\Program files\VstPlugins
    C:\Program filesx86\VstPlugins
    C:\Program files\Common Files\VST3

REAPER is detecting the x86 plugin but not the x64 one!

Strange. You installed the x64 on a x64 machine?

Yes! I am running REAPER x64 on Windows 8 Pro x64. There were some tools in GR5 folder. I followed the installation guide provided!

When installing guitar rig, did it give you options to install x64 and x86 versions? And if so, did you select both? If so, maybe that's the problem. I know there's a guitar rig download going around that is only x86. Are you sure you have the right one?

Yes, I have the latest one.
I have selected to install both the versions.
I"ll try it once more by just installing the x64!
    Thanks!

I got it to work!

The problem was in the file name of the VST. Both x86 and x64 were named as Guitar Rig 5.dll. REAPER was scanning it as only 1 file. I renamed the Guitar Rig 5.dll to Guitar Rig 5 x64.dll

It worked like a charm!

Fantastic. If just stick with one version though, the x64 one. This solution will be helpful to a lot of people. Thanks!

Another solution may be to simply delete the 'x86-32bit' Version from its location, mainly if you plan to use primarily the 'x64-64bit' Version most of the time (64Bit OS). *yes*

This is also valid for other VST Plugins than 'Native Instruments', where both Versions (if installed !) are not clearly stated as '32bit' or '64bit' in their name (e.g. 'x64.dll').
