I had to use ASIO 4 All for a longer period, because I had problems to activate my Komplete Audio 1 with asio driver.

This problem is solved since a few days. But I´m pretty sure that it wasn´t a problem to use the soundcard simultanious for other Windows applications.

Sometimes I like to watch a tutorial aside having Ableton open to get further. Now I have to switch the audio settings in Ableton everytime, I wanna take a look on Youtube.

Is there any solution to get rid of the annoying extra steps?

    Thx!

You have to go to --> System --> Sound --> Settings --> Output
for example, mark "Realtek" as the "Default Device".

Realtek is the chip from your mainboard for YouTube videos.

It's better to always keep it separate.

The DAW uses the drivers from your USB audio interface.
Take some photos if you don't know what to do. Windows 10 or Windows 11 ?

    I´m using Windows 11.

Problem is, if I use onboard sound for everything else then Ableton, I need second aux cable and plug it into a different port on my amplifier, right? Or at least get myself a tiny mixer to change outputs.

Usually there is a mini jack on the motherboard called audio (3.5) that you then connect to the speakers. The DAW goes to the monitors via the USB audio interface. I don't know what system you have. Do you have the normal speakers?

Setup now is: Audio 1 -> USB -> PC and audio out -> chinch to amp.

Using internal sound would mean PC -> amp on top.

I could route them both to the same input on the amp by using 2 -> 1 chinch adapters.

Okay, that means Audio 1 -> PC by USB and from there to onboard output and to the amp?

So no direct connection between audio output from Audio 1 and amp? Kust USB?

Don't you just want your DAW to have your audio interface selected for it's output, and then the other audio sent to a internal onboard output, like a laptops internal soundcard ?

If you have everything else going to your onboard sound, set as your systemwide default; are you saying the DAW will not load your audio production interface just as an exception to the systemwide rule? It shouldn't try to usurp your "default" configuration when you open the DAW.

You need a 3.5 mini jack to RCA cable red and white. From the mainboard (see photo) to the amplifier RCA!!!

Thats what I wanna have, yes. But I´m confused about the phisical routing by wires.

Do I have to set two audio wires to my amp? One from NI soundcard and one from mainboard?

These are two different things and they should remain two different things.

    1. One is the USB audio face just for the DAW
    2. The other is onboard audio for YouTube. TV

The audio signal goes to the 3.5 jack and should then be fed into your tuner, see photo.

CSL - Cinch to jack cable 1 m- 3.5mm jack plug to 2x Cinch RCA plug Y - adapter cable jack cable - double shielding - HiFi audio cable...

Got it. Just tried to plug it in but got some distortion sounds like crackeling and white noise.

    Click on registerAsioDriver.bat .
Use this driver as your Asio in all apps.

    Wire routing as written before.

Audio 1 is connected via USB to PC and via audio out to amp.

Again thanks for your helpful replies. I installed FlexAsio now, which was mentioned in a link and it does what I was looking for.

your problem is, ASIO4ALL is a bridge for Windows audio engine, and Windows audio engine doesn't accept different samplerates,

so once you jump between apps that request different samplerate, you will get the problem.

Using Asio 4 All was a temporary solution because I wasn´t able to choose the NI asio driver.

Now I am again. Always thought best driver to choose is from the manufactor. I´ll take a look now to FlexASIO now and try to figure things out.

If I´m facing problems again, I´ll get advice here in between minutes, which I´m very thankful for!
