- but it lacks a bit of depth, I guess it will come with time. This kind of music is as much about as the space between the notes as notes themselves. It will come.

It could be that trying to understand what the message actually was, that feeling of forced conformity in a post - postwar Britain, the war fatigue of the population and the feeling that it would all come back too soon as the cold war raged on. The dismantling of the old industrial Britain and the coming apart of the Empire as the middle class and common man felt squeezed out as work and pay became more and more scarce. Getting a grip on the despair will help with conveying the message. It's not an essentially British message, but it needs a bit more of that raggedness that comes from not knowing what comes next, while being told that you'll never be as good as those that went before you, because they died and they did great things, etc....

Keep at it, I am certain life already has and will again give you that necessary kick in the nuts that expressing this song properly requires.

I guess when we are covering a song, it's impossible to exactly mimic the original in every aspect. If we had to do justice to this song, we had to be Pink Floyd, no less!!! We adore the band and David Gilmour in particular. Whatta guitarist!!!
We hope we get that kick in the nuts pretty soon
