Okok. hmm no i used a few i tried Acustica Fire the clip ( GOOD results ) the i trike KClip OK result and bx_clipper way too strong but usefull on individual tracks AF

Lastly i setled with Sir Audio Tools Clipper. and the settings is like softest algo 55%-65% brings some punch out. Also it gained like 0.8-1 LUFS

i would say to just never master your tracks, and if you do, never say it's mastered.

you should never have any energy in your soul left over to master your musical work. there's too much emphasis on tools and technology, but "the best music was made 300 years ago by dead dudes in wigs." and they weren't trying to decide what EQ to use n sheeyit. i mean as long as we're talking about music. are we talking about music or about instruments? the most important thing to a musician is how interested they are in making music. and to be interest-ing, one must be interest-ed, that is the magic ingredient to great art, not how popular you are or if someone else likes it or if its radio ready or any of that kind of outside validation.

I just wish someone told me that decades ago and stopped me from wasting my life.

I have soothe and pro Q 4, i just smashed them so they would punch thru,

Thats good advice, little changes, i get somewhat static i know that :)

I use shaperbox on shakers and stuff to automate volume, maybe use it on straight beats aswell!

hehe yeah well mastering is a thing now and i sent 5 tracks that i both mixed saved mastered saved. sent the mixed ones and compared versions, my "masters" where better or at same level i could not hear any big differences, so mastering is just limiting and transient handling plus stereowidth if you paralell it or not. Mastering is ez if you ask me, its all in the mix rly

Nice! try a transient shaper to get them to punch through. There are some great ones out there. My go to for years was Waves Smack, but lately have been using Transgressor. Its really interesting, and can get very transparent results. Highly tweakable too.

Yah, ive found over the years that when a song is "done" but you are still in the final stage of adjusting things, its easy to get carried away. Small incremental changes of 5-10% can really tighten things up / smooth things out. Sometimes even 10% is too much.

Shaperbox is awesome. Its my go to for volume shaping. Triggering it with MIDI is the best.

Standard Clip isn't "better". At a certain point the increased available oversampling rates may barely matter. But they are usually used a little differently; especially if you like using the Assistant in Standard Clip so you will not end up with any overshoot in your render when you add it after the final limiter. The way you can unlink the input and output gain in Kclip3 can be really helpful, because by adjusting the input trim you can maximize the waveform signal-to-noise ratio without any compression. After that, you re-link them to minimize the amount of signal you are going to have as overs and adjust the threshold to dial in how much you are really clipping. You can toggle the Delta Monitor button on and off to adjust the amount of information getting clipped by listening to it solo'd that way. This is what people mean when they refer to it as "shaving".

hey, guess what i did another one, and as always i want your feedback.

I feel pretty good about it my self.

    Anyone have any feedback?

I will be chilling with track posting now i think.
Hope you like it and i want all opinions!!

With 100k+ Views iv'e decided to upload some of my best tracks that has gotten some attention already and viewers get more content. Im sharing 3 more tracks!

    1. A track that got a lot of attention by it self with no ads. What do you guys think?

    2. My favorit track, heavily inspired by Boris Brejcha! Toughts?

    3. Another Brejcha style compositon, any fans of Boris here?

Please leave feedback or general thoughts about my new content! Crazy amount of views, might as well use it to spread music and happy vibes. The new tracks are more likable i would say.

    Take care.

    Johnny

one of my favorite musicians Aphex Twin, often releases tracks and describes them as 'unmastered'. maybe he mixes with a limiter on the master buss or something and that's it. i'm all for that. there are issues with monitoring in general, and unless you have a perfect setup with subwoofers or massive monitors to check on, there's always gonna be some kind of regrets which is why every band in existence does a remaster release after about 20 years. I say, as long as you are getting a kick out of writing music, keep going forwards.

Hello @JohnnyBoy023, now you also know and feel the ignorance of the society you live in.

I really like your song; it's very diverse and powerful.

    Quick comments

I'd say progression-wise it needs a bit of work - you should lose the main bassline in the intro for openers or at least to begin with so you get a better intro vibe IMO as when you really expect it to kick in around the minute (if you were DJing) it doesnt really change that much because you already have 2 bassline layers in the intro bit. I'd line it up against some reference tracks and compare your intro with theirs in terms of how much is going on early on in the track.

Some of the sweep fx definitely need a bit more of a low cut so they keep away from your main basslines a bit I'd say too and in general i think you need to low-cut a few elements a touch more as there's quite a bit of low end clarity lacking between the basses and synths. Also mixdown wise i'd say some elements like the brass horn and the pluck lead need to come down at least a db or 2 in gain. Your kick should ALWAYS be the dominant element with this stuff with the basses just behind unless you're making say D&B whereas some of your leads and that brass horn are pretty much as loud as the kick.

In terms of ear candy i think it could also use a few more white noise and similar fx as well just to keep the listener interested and some of the builds in general are a bit 'meh' (e.g. 2:18) - you really don't have much of a build other than a bit of an uplifter and the tune kicks back in - compare that drive/build with some of your favourite refence tracks and you'll generally find the pro ones have massively more build/filtering/fx. Same with the breakdown into 3:06 - it just kinda drops away but other than a sweep there's no proper build beforehand to work a crowd. The fx/build/ear candy in general are what can show a big difference between amateur and pro tracks.

In terms of lengths I'd agree 7+ mins is too long - you could speed up the build from the intro and between breaks pretty easily and save 90 secs off that I reckon.

Deffo a decent start mate with a few tweaks that could be a solid track.

Hi, thank you for your feedback, very precise and well articulated. I agree with you, i kinda need to work more in detail with what i bounce / sample and how i make use of it, proper EQ'ing is also important but it gets hard when you try to fill a track, kinda have to compromise with samples and other elements. I am very quick when i make a track, like in the flow zone, so i should wait with uploading when i finish a track, and come back later to the mix, i've been skipping that part, all pros says so, let a track lie for a week or two then come back and work on it..

Very good feedback, thank you so much! I understand what your saying, some things is preference ofc but overall there is a lot that could be better and altered better as you commented.

Thanks again, i will make use of the feedback!
