Can't decide whether this is worse than $1000/10000 power/toslink cables.

I'm in awe at the amount of money, energy and time audiophiles devote to their mental gymnastics and snake oil sale pitches.

Agreed. But same can be said about "God" and people's religious beliefs, but that is a bit more touchy because it can get personal really quickly. People can sandpaper and permanent-marker the edges of their old CDs, as long as they don't tell me to.

To be honest I highly doubt that people would note a difference.
If they had an A / B comparison while blindfolded they would quickly realize that they are full of shit.

As long as people are ready to pay insane prices for pseudo products this will continue.
Same goes for those japanese Audiophiles that believe that they can hear a difference depending on the power source of the speaker

audiophiles always screw up two songs worth of music. the first one they pick probably won't be any good; but recorded well. and they will ruin it either way by telling you about it the entire time it is playing.

and then the next one by comparing it to the previous one.

How can you possibly take this guy seriously. He's using cheap cables. You would need at least an 8k monitor to see the difference in a wav. And those headphones... He's an amateur!

For some audiophiles even different hard disks make a difference in sound and SSDs are bad for playing music! Their god works in really, REALLY mysterious ways. :) Feeding upon the rest of the rest of the poor numbers if the neurons left possibly?

And not a magnet in sight. I don't know much but I know good sound involves magnets.

Imagine buying a large collection of rare discs then finding they had all been "improved" on this thing.

    Utterly ridiculous.

And btw do this test: take your original cds (not mastered) and place them in front of a strong lamp, be sure you'll find holes, at times many holes, I couldn't believe it, but I tried and I found many defective cds, mostly from late 80's (one for all: Madonna GH), but they play in anyway, with no apparent glitches.
And there is an error handling in each digital device, like CRC, padding, etc.

Oh, then, manually? What if you sneeze during shaving?
